Colleen’s purple and pink bouquet was made up of mini calla lilies, phalaenopsis orchids, tulips, and mums, and accented with white pheasant feathers. The stems were wrapped in white ribbon and the same purple fabric from Colleen’s dress. She added a fleur-de-lis pin for some sparkle.

When guests walked out of the ceremony, they were surprised to see real Mardi Gras floats ready to take them to the reception. Everyone threw beads from the floats as they paraded downtown. Colleen and Brad had arranged for the police to block off some of the streets for the processional.

A New Orleans tradition, a second line band escorted the parade to Nola, where the party continued. Colleen and Brad ordered personalized parasols for the wedding party and gave out hankies to all the guests to wave as they walked down the street.

Colleen’s sister wore a purple dress with hot-pink accents that she found in a London boutique. The couple wanted the wedding to feel relaxed, so Brad dressed down in a light-gray suit with an Alexander Graham shirt in shades of purple.

Colleen & Brad in New Orleans, LA

After Colleen graduated from Louisiana State University, she moved back home to Florida and bought shares of the gym where she had always trained. Brad, a gymnastics coach there, also had shares in the business, and that’s how they met. The Bride Colleen Barger, 31, business owner The Groom Brad Harris, 39, business owner The Date July 11 Brad proposed to Colleen while the two were spending Christmas at Colleen’s family’s time-share in Colorado. When deciding on a location, it was important for Brad and Colleen to find a place that would be travel-friendly for their family and friends. They decided on New Orleans, especially for the food.
