Round tables were topped with floral-patterned linens in vibrant colors: red, pinks, fuchsia, purples, blues, and oranges. To accent their natural surroundings, Deborah topped the tables with small clusters of flowers -- gerbera daisies, dahlias, and more that she purchased at Pike Place Market --in simple bud vases.

“We wanted a very eclectic and bright feel to our wedding,” she explains. The centerpieces were variety of birdcages she found at thrift stores and antique shops with two beautiful multicolored origami cranes inside each one that she made. It was this unique and personal setting that provided a memorable evening of festivities for all.

Deborah & Shawn in Vashon Island, WA

Deborah and Shawn, who met in a journalism course, couldn’t have written a better script for theirr wedding themselves. The Bride Deborah Lambert, 26, administrative social worker The Groom Shawn Blake, 33, researcher The Date September 4 The couple exchanged their wedding vows on an island that’s just 12 miles long and accessed only by ferryboat. It was the perfect day for a celebration: sunny, warm, relaxing. Friends of theirs, who own property on Vashon Island, had offered ttheir home for the festivities which took place ouside surrounded by both ocian and mountain views.
