Dori & Ian: An Outdoor Wedding in Seattle, WA

Lots of people have crushes in junior high, but who expects to meet their future husband or wife in the seventh grade? When Dori met Ian in the seventh grade, their eventual relationship grew out of a series of coincidences that brought them together in art class in the eighth and ninth grades and then again in senior year physics. They finally became friends after they bumped into each other yet again at the University of Washington. The Bride Midori (Dori) Shimada, 29, assistant personnel specialist The Groom Ian Towler, 29, intern architect The Date August 6 The two stayed close throughout college despite taking different academic paths, but sparks didn't fly until after they graduated and rented a house with mutual friends. "It was there that I finally realized that Ian was the funny, perfect guy I wanted to spend the rest of my life with," Dori says. "So I turned on the charm. He came around pretty quickly."
