The doctor was definitely in when Elizabeth visited the office of Scott. Both Elizabeth and Scott were in relationships at the time, but when a little over a year passed and the two found themselves single, one of Scott's nurses suggested that he ask Elizabeth out. The Bride Elizabeth Moes, 29, pharmaceutical sales rep The Groom Charles (Scott) Markle, 39, neurologist The Date September 20 Nine months later, the couple headed to London to ring in the New Year. Scott planned to propose at a restaurant with great views of the city, but the eatery unexpectedly closed early. Quick thinking Scott suggested that they take a walk to snap photos to commemorate their final night there. While standing on a bridge overlooking the Thames River, Scott popped the question. Later, "Over the Thames" was engraved into Elizabeth's wedding ring.
