"I always had particular things I wanted in a wedding gown, most extraordinary being my desire to have two different skirts," explains Hayley. For the reception, she switched from her Jenny Kim Couture gown's full-length trumpet skirt to a knee-length flared style featuring a turquoise satin belt.

Hayley and Jason's five-tiered cake was frosted in aqua-hued buttercream accented with a pattern of red fondant. A family heirloom cake topper of a Belleek Irish porcelain bride and groom that belonged to the bride's maternal grandmother topped off the confection.

Hayley & Jason in Galveston, TX

It wasn't until the second time Hayley and Jason met that things fell into place for them. Unlike their first introduction years before, this time "Jason actually noticed the way-older-and-cooler Hayley," says the bride.

Within a week they had their first date, and before long, Jason decided to propose to Hayley during a quiet night at his home. The two began planning a wedding in Galveston, where, the bride says, "much of our relationship had unfolded, including the proposal." Instead of the typical beach look, the couple chose to highlight the city's historic ambience with their nuptials.
