Ivy chose strapless, champagne-colored, floor-length gowns by BCBG that featured ruched brown “cummerbunds” and Empire waists. Ivy wore a strapless, ivory, Italian silk taffeta, asymmetrically draped gown by Romona Keveza.

The flower girls wore sleeveless, satin, Empire-waist dresses in ivory. They also wore sashes custom made to match the sage green used throughout the wedding.

Ivy and Danny married at St. Thomas Aquinas, a large cathedral church featuring traditional architectural details and windows imported from Europe. As Easter had just passed, the couple did not have to add much to the decor, which was already accented throughout with white calla lilies.

“One of our guests had commented about the reception that she felt like she was entering a very relaxing lobby of a day spa -- it was one of the most appropriate and pleasant compliments from the evening,” Ivy says.

The reception was held at a Vietnamese restaurant where the banquet-style tables were decorated with small round centerpieces of roses.

The menu cards picked up the cherry blossom theme that Ivy and Danny had first introduced in their invitations. A friend designed the paper goods, which incorporated two different cherry blossom graphics on a sage green background. The cards were held up at each table by hand-folded origami holders.

The banquet-style tables were also decorated with small round centerpieces of roses and a few orchids submerged in tall rectangular vases.

Ivy and Danny served their guests a four-tiered square cake decorated with bands of sage green and chocolate brown ribbon around each tier. Green hydrangeas sprouted from between the tiers. Manzanita trees adorned with balls of flower petals flanked the cake on either side.

Ivy and Danny knew each other as high schoolers, but it wasn’t until a few years later that they got to know each other more.
