“The dinner reception space flowed seamlessly from the inside of the inn through the open French doors leading outside, where it was encompassed by one large tent,” Jenifer says.

The couple served two cakes for dessert: First was a vanilla bean cake with lemon curd and fresh raspberry filling, iced with vanilla bean buttercream, and the groom’s cake was a classic yellow cake with chocolate ganache filling and frosting.

After their unforgettable evening (which included Chip and a few fraternity friends giving Jenifer a surprise barbershop quartet–style serenade), the couple gave their guests vintage bird-shaped lemon juicers that acted as place cards, favors, and one last reminder of the couple’s vibrant wedding style.

When Jenifer refused to eat a bag of trail mix on a hike with boyfriend Richard (Chip), he had to think fast—sitting in that bag was a diamond engagement ring. Chip quickly put the ring in the couple’s camera bag so that when Jenifer went to retrieve the camera she felt something slip to the bottom of the bag. The Bride Jenifer Koehn, 32, marketing manager The Groom Richard (Chip) Tatlow, 35, investment strategist The Date September 9 “I assured him it was the batteries that I’d changed out earlier,” Jenifer says. Luckily, Chip was persistent, and by the time she realized what she’d pulled from the bag, Chip was on one knee.
