Jen and Mike wed in a late morning ceremony on the lawn of a friend of Mike's family. Guests sat in chairs overlooking the ocean and Nauset Beach which were arrayed in a wide horseshoe shape, with flowerpots lining the aisle. Jen gave her six bridesmaids and maid of honor plenty of style options for their dresses, created by designer Coren Moore. Though all were made from the same sage-colored silk shantung, some were strapless, some had an empire waist, and so on. All of the dresses came to just below the knee or a tad longer to keep the look unified.

Jennifer & Mike in Chatham, MA
Mike proposed to Jen on his 28th birthday while the couple were having dinner at a restaurant in New York City's TriBeCa. "Most of the restaurant was in on it," Jen remembers. Everything was going smoothly until Mike's birthday dessert arrived at the table without the candle in it that Jen had asked for. She hopped up to get a candle brought over, and when she returned to their booth Mike began telling her how much he loved her. At first Jen didn't catch on, but that changed when Mike got down on one knee. "All the while I was saying, 'No, you're not, no you're not...' And he said, 'Stop saying that -- YES I AM!" Jen recalls. She cried with joy while the entire restaurant applauded.

July 10 Jennifer and Mike had met through a mutual friend in the summer on Cape Cod. The friend was actually trying to set Mike up with her cousin but fate would have it that another woman who caught his eye that night. Years later, Jen and Mike returned to the town of their first meeting, Chatham, for their laid-back beachside wedding.- Alonna Friedman
