Jenny carried a bouquet of mostly white and cream-colored blooms, including roses, ranunculuses, parrot tulips, calla lilies, hydrangeas, and lisianthus.

Tom wore a small, white boutonniere to match one of the blooms in the bride’s bouquet.

The groomsmen accessorized their black tuxes with peach-colored Ike Behar ties that matched the sashes on the bridesmaid dresses.

The programs included a picture of the Burge house, which was also found on the save-the-dates. The couple also put together wedding party “facebooks” -- packets of fun facts and stories about their wedding party.

For the ceremony, padded wooden chairs were arranged to create two aisles toward the rear and a center aisle at the front. “Somewhat untraditional,” Jenny says, “but it gave a more relaxed feeling to the site.”

Short, iron centerpieces filled with antique white hydrangeas, red and green hypericum berries, Queen Anne’s lace, pittosporum, and sedum gave each table a rustic feel.

Jenny and Tom took their first spin on the dance floor to “These Are the Days” by Van Morrison. The groom also made a surprise performance with the band to play “Mustang Sally” on the saxophone.

When Jenny and Tom began planning their wedding, they did so with a southern state of mind. Jenny and Tom met at a party in college and dated for several years before Tom proposed over a candlelit dinner at Jenny’s family’s beach house. Jenny and Tom chose Burge Plantation for their wedding not only to give out-of-towners a taste of southern style but also because of the site’s significance to the bride -- Jenny’s father passed away when she was 12, and, Jenny says, “I grew up going to Burge with my dad.”
