All of the bridesmaid dresses followed a similar concept: coral color, around knee length and not too much detail. "It allowed for each girl to pick a dress that suited her physique and her style, which I loved," says Katie.

Aaron proposed to Katie while they were riding their bikes around the Nicollet Island Pavilion on a gorgeous spring day in March, 2012.

The couple chose Iron & Wine's "Love and Some Verses" for their first dance. "Both Aaron and I have a strong connection to the album, and I just know that anytime I hear this über romantic song and think of Aaron, I tear up," says Katie.

The couple kept it simple with their cake, choosing a small round confection covered in white fondant. Inside, the vanilla batter had been tinted a lovely pink color for a surprise touch.

Katie found her bridal shoes even before she chose her gown! "I couldn't resist how playful they were," she says of her Halogen flats.

The couple designed their own invitations, programs and signage for their wedding. They worked with Dick & Jane Letterpress for the custom printing of their invitations.

The cake and cupcakes were displayed on a rustic piece of salvaged furniture.

The bakers from Sweet Retreat topped all the cupcakes in coral-pink frosting. "They were so delicious," says Katie.
