The centerpieces were unique and perfectly complemented the polka-dot color scheme. Some of the tables had bouquets of white flowers set in a cylinder of peas, while others had large pillar candles set in the peas.

The four-tiered wedding cake was embellished with black-and-white polka-dot ribbon around each tier with a little bit of beading, and a monogram on one of the tiers. The chocolate mousse and carrot cake flavors were a hit with guests. Also, the cake and the place cards were set in flats of wheatgrass.

“I wore two different pairs of shoes: one for the ceremony, and then I changed shoes once the party and dancing started,” says Laura-Lee. The first pair were Kate Spade shoes with a very simple bow, and the second pair were bright green with ankle straps and bows from BCBG.

Laura-Lee really wanted a flower muff -- something she had seen in a magazine. Thanks to the florists and their creativity, it turned out great and looked amazing. All of the tables had taller than normal votive containers with peas at the bottom and white candles set around the centerpieces.

Laura-Lee & Erik in San Marino, CA

After eight years of dating, Laura-Lee had stopped wondering when her boyfriend Erik would propose. The two met in college and spent a considerable amount of time dating long-distance before Laura-Lee moved to Los Angeles and Erik eventually followed. Finally living in the same city, the timing was right for a surprise proposal. The Bride Laura-Lee Rosenberg, 27, special events manager The Groom Erik Hartung, 29, wine salesman The Date September 3 “Every year, Laura-Lee throws a Christmas party for friends, and I timed my proposal for the day of,” explains Erik. “Unfortunately, the smooth proposal I’d envisioned didn’t quite go as expected.” As a nervous Erik dropped to his knees, his hands shook so badly that the ring popped out of the box and onto the floor! Quick to recover, he scooped up the ring and placed it in her hand. Eight-and-a-half-months later, they celebrated at a reception overlooking the San Gabriel Valley.
