The groomsmen wore traditional scarves and kurta shirts. Anil, his groomsmen, and even the ring bearer personalized their looks with dark brown Vans sneakers, which were a gift from the couple.

Red and cream programs welcomed Laurie and Anil’s guests and outlined the Jewish and Hindu rituals that would be incorporated in the ceremony. The handmade programs were tied with a gold rod and a band of orange parchment.

The couple combined Laurie’s Jewish faith and Anil’s Hindu beliefs by creating a combination huppah-mandap. The structure was adorned with bright orange Indian silk, marigolds, and Spanish moss.

In honor of Anil’s Indian roots, Laurie’s uncle, a professional trumpet player, blew into a conch shell during the ceremony.

The reception tables were decorated with square, blue-green silk overlays and scattered with shells to reflect the oceanside setting. Blue, green, and orange flowers echoed the site’s Spanish tiling.

Bright centerpieces made of succulents and marigolds were displayed in terra-cotta pots topped each table.

This time, Anil’s friend pulled through and set them up, and the pair fell for each other.
