Little brown sailboats served as the place card holders for Liz and Jason’s 100 guests. Guests also received custom-designed lobster bibs for the buffet-style lobster bake dinner.

A close friend of Liz and Jason’s, Alissa Sampogna, created their save-the-dates and invitations using their blue and brown color scheme. The invitations, which were tied with brown raffia, featured a blue daisy motif.

Liz and Jason celebrated with their guests beneath a three-pole tent set up on a hill overlooking the boats docked in the harbor below. Strings of lights and flowers covered the tent’s poles.

Liz's seven bridesmaids wore short, brown dresses from After Six. Her junior bridesmaid wore a brown dress with a blue sash from Watters’ WaWa line.

Hand-painted brown lighthouses numbered Liz and Jason’s reception tables. The lighthouses were adorned with blue hydrangeas, Queen Anne’s lace, and greenery.

Liz and Jason wed in a Catholic ceremony at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church on Block Island. They found an old photo of the church from the 1940s that they featured on the covers of their ceremony programs.

Rather than a traditional wedding cake, Liz and Jason opted for chocolate and vanilla cupcakes in their wedding colors.

Liz King and Jason Doyle first met at Murphy’s Bar in New York City. Years later, while both were standing in the house they had just closed on, Jason asked Liz to marry him, and the two soon began planning a traditional New England-style wedding. The Bride Elizabeth King, 32, marketing manager The Groom Jason Doyle, 32, managing partner at a recruiting firm The Date June 9 Though Liz and Jason initially looked in Connecticut to have their wedding, Liz says the two soon set their sights on Block Island. The seaside New England ambience became a major theme for the entire wedding, with location-inspired details making up the wedding style. A subtle blue and brown palette -- perfect for a wedding by the water -- tied it all together.
