After a co-worker of Lori started dating a co-worker of Marshall, the new couple realized their friends would make a good pair. Lori and Marshall refused to be set up at first, but finally agreed to meet for drinks. "They were right to set us up," says Marshall. A week later, Lori and Marshall set up their own date, and they've been together ever since.

The Date October 18
The next summer, while the couple was vacationing in Belgium, Lori went to put on her everyday jewelry that she left on the hotel dresser. She was shocked to find a diamond engagement ring in its place. The two began planning their October wedding immediately but with only three months to plan, it was hard to find an available venue they loved. Marshall suggested they host the wedding in their backyard and Lori loved the idea. With help from a wedding planner, they pulled off their self-described "non-traditional" wedding with a lime and chocolate color scheme.
