Fifty of the couple’s closest family and friends gathered on the beach just before sunset to watch Nicki and Andy exchange traditional vows. To make the ceremony even more special, the couple asked Rev. Doug Burrell, the minister at Andy’s home church, to preside over the ceremony.

Nicki & Andy in Charleston, SC

Nicki and Andy met after a University of Georgia vs. University of Florida football game. A group of her friends was staying at a beach house in Simon’s Island, Georgia, and she decided to tag along. She first laid eyes on Andy when he was passing around champagne in celebration of a Georgia win. Andy asked Nicki for her number at another football game a few weeks later, and the two were soon dating. The Bride Nicole (Nicki) Schaefer, 27, clinical pharmacist The Groom Andrew (Andy) Balchin, 27, civil engineer The Date October 13 Given their football history, it was only fitting that the couple got engaged on the day of a Bulldogs game. Andy gathered all of their friends and family together for a tailgate party and proposed with everyone around. After the proposal, he whisked her off to the game in a limo, and during halftime “congratulations” flashed across the big screen.
