Rachelle's six bridesmaids wore a mix of butter and Victorian lilac Alfred Angelo strapless tea-length gowns with rhinestone belt buckles. As a token of her appreciation, she gave them coordinating pashmina wraps and earrings. Upon entering the reception hall, guests were treated to a special guest DJ, the legendary Kool Herc, aka "The Father of Hip Hop." Rachelle and her father shared an emotional dance to "Dance With My Father" by Luther Vandross. Stan and his mom danced to "The Most Beautiful Girl" by Prince.

Lilies and carnations filled the bridal party's bouquets, but Rachelle decided to do something a bit more simple and elegant for the reception. In large fishbowls on every table, she placed floating gardenias and candles -- perfect for a romantic garden affair.

The bridal party walked down the aisle at the outdoor ceremony to "Knocks Me Off my Feet" by Stevie Wonder. During the ceremony, the couple read personalized vows, lit a unity candle and jumped the broom to represent the past and their future lives together. "It brought together my Haitian roots and our African American roots," she says.

From handmade invitations to a custom-designed wedding gown, artistic pair Rachelle and Stan put all the finishing touches on their unique, outdoor celebration. The Bride Rachelle Etienne, 25, fashion account representative The Groom Stan Robinson, 25, graphic designer/production services The Date September 10 Rachelle and Stan first laid eyes on each other during their freshman year of college at Pratt Institute in New York City. "We began hanging out and became friends from frequenting the same poetry readings, trips into the city and mutual friends," the bride says. Once their sophomore year hit, they were officially an item. After four and a half years of dating, Stan proposed at their home during Memorial Day weekend -- after asking her parents for her hand, of course!
