Robyn & Steven in Eastsound, WA

Robyn and Steven were both university students in Tucson when they met at a cocktail lounge where he was a bartender and she was a waitress. On slow evenings, they would dance to the lounge band's renditions of "My Funny Valentine," or "The Way of the World." The Bride Robyn Arnell, 31, vice president and assistant controller, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. The Groom Steven Brenden, 38, architect The Date July 1 After dating for 10 years, the two were in the midst of renovating a historic Arizona hacienda. On New Year's Eve, they climbed up onto the roof, where they sat debating the stability of their perch. As they huddled beneath blankets, sipping champagne beneath an Arizona sky full of fireworks and stars, Steven presented Robyn with a sapphire engagement ring. Robyn and Steven had fallen in love with the San Juan Islands on a vacation, and decided it was the perfect setting for their wedding and honeymoon. Cabins-on-the-Point on Orcas Island became "home base" for the celebration. The estate is a collection of charming cottages on three seaside acres of flowering gardens and blackberry brambles. Robyn's friend Pamela affectionately dubbed it "Wedding Camp."
