The couple married in the bride’s family synagogue. The site was particularly special to the bride as she has very fond memories of gathering there with family and friends for all religious occasions. Sarah and Kyle exchanged vows beneath a huppah decorated with more than 200 stems of white hydrangeas, curly willow, roses, and orchids.

The 275 guests walked through a large, white archway into the elegant reception room. The gold-plated flatware on the tables was purchased by the bride’s parents and donated to the synagogue for future weddings.

After Kyle Harman planned a nostalgic scavenger hunt proposal to Sarah Caplan, it was only fitting that they chose an equally reminiscent setting -- the bride’s family synagogue -- for their November wedding. The Bride Sarah Caplan, 25, financial services The Groom Kyle Harman, 27, sales manager The Date November 10 College romance moved from the dorms at Syracuse University to the couple’s New York City apartments, so when Kyle surprised Sarah with a scavenger hunt all over the city, she couldn’t wait to arrive at the last stop where Kyle was waiting in a rickshaw to propose. The couple then began planning a fall wedding in the bride’s home state of Virginia.
