The couple exchanged handwritten vows under a birch-bark arbor overlooking Newfound Lake. The nondenominational ceremony included a passage by Chilean poet Pablo Neruda and music performed by Sarah’s good friend and coworker.

Sarah and Sam chose several flavors for their wedding cake: white cake with chocolate and raspberry filling and chocolate cake with white Russian filling. The confection was iced with buttercream and decorated with mod brown and blue circles.

Hall mates Sarah and Sam met as sophomores at Tufts University in Boston. A close friendship developed, and by their senior year, Sarah and Sam's relationship had evolved into a romantic one. The Bride Sarah Crane, 27, Spanish teacher The Groom Sam Gough, 28, financial planner The Date September 29 One evening, Sarah came home from a trip to discover that Sam had arranged a surprise at-home proposal. Sam incorporated his rubber ducky collection into the proposal by arranging them around a ring box for Sarah. For their wedding, the couple chose a lakefront location in New Hampshire and created a modern yet elegant wedding with a fresh, blue and brown color palette.
