Shyra's and LB's fathers, both ministers, officiated the ceremony that, according to the bride, brought new meaning to short but sweet. "Since it was July in Texas and an outdoor ceremony, we didn't want our guests to pass out. We wanted the ceremony to be simple but intimate."

So they said their vows, were pronounced husband and wife, and were quickly whisked away in a horse-drawn carriage that clip-clopped out of sight, circling the park twice before arriving at the reception at the Gardens Restaurant. "It was so romantic and peaceful," remembers Shyra. "It gave us time alone and time to relax."

The couple met during college at Texas Christian University where she was a freshman and he was a sophomore. The Bride Shyra Holmes, 24, teacher/coach The Groom LB Johnson, 25, corporate finance The Date July 21 One fateful night, when Shyra didn't want to push her way through the doors of an over-crowded party, she told her friends she'd wait for them outside on the steps of the hotel across the street. There, she came face-to-face with LB and learned that this handsome man went to Texas Christian as well -- and they even lived in the same dorm.
