Susan and Paul brought in 14 trees, that they had spray-painted white, to decorate for a crisp, clean, winter wonderland ceremony. The flower girls, dubbed snow fairies, sprinkled the aisle with white rose petals and snowflakes.

White fabric piping and drapery on the walls and white satin chair covers made the reception feel like a winter wonderland, while blue up-lighting gave the room an icy look.

A crystal snowflake decorated each table setting. The white plates, napkins, and menu cards popped against the navy blue tablecloths. At their place settings, guests also found custom-made blue fortune cookies -- a nod to Paul’s proposal.

Susan’s friend Megan, also Paul’s coworker, called a good match when she arranged a group lunch date for Susan and Paul to meet each other. They were a little shy about it on their first meeting but agreed to go on a real date afterward and soon became an item. After dinner, he placed a fortune cookie on Susan’s plate. Inside the cookie was a poem he had written, asking Susan to marry him. Soon plans were underway for a winter wedding in Indianapolis, where they both live.
