Sylvia carried a bouquet of mango calla lilies wrapped in a diamond white, satin ribbon. A silver marcasite locket was attached to the bouquet with a picture of Sylvia’s father inside, who’d passed away seven years before.

To match his bride’s bouquet, Jimmy wore an orange calla lily boutonniere with looped bear grass.

The square programs were made of chocolate brown card stock and a smaller ivory square card printed with the “S + J” logo that the couple used throughout their wedding. “It was a clean, simple, modern look we wanted to achieve with all of the paper products,” Sylvia says.

The ceremony space was decorated with two tall manzanita trees in chocolate brown, wooden boxes, and orange roses, mango calla lilies, Singapore orchids, green hydrangeas, and brown micro-daisies.  The trees were later moved to the reception area to be used as part of the centerpieces.

Pomanders hanging from shepherd’s hooks added a rustic touch to the ceremony space. Afterward, the pomanders were placed in stone urns and used as centerpieces for the reception.

Chocolate brown tablecloths and apple green napkins graced the tables, which were topped with votives and centerpieces in various sizes.

Instead of traditional escort cards, guests found their names and table numbers printed on velum and attached to glowing votive candles.

The couple used low and high centerpieces to create a dynamic look on the reception tables. The primary blooms in each arrangement were orange roses, orange spray roses, mango callas, green hydrangeas, Singapore orchids, and brown micro-daisies.

The couple chose a three-tiered square cake decorated with brown chocolate branches and green satin ribbon around the base of each tier. The chocolate cake had mocha latte filling and vanilla, Bavarian cream icing.

In keeping with the fall theme, Sylvia and Jimmy gave guests caramel-dipped Granny Smith apples. Each apple was wrapped in clear cellophane and tied with either a brown or green satin ribbon.

When Jimmy spotted a familiar face on Friendster.com, he immediately remembered Sylvia from the summer camp they'd attended during junior high school. Sylvia and Jimmy reconnected and quickly became good friends. When Sylvia's friends offered to set her up on a date with someone else a year later, Jimmy took exception. "I thought, 'but we're just friends...or are we?'" Sylvia says. "We decided to give it a try and started dating," Sylvia says, "and here I am today married to my best friend."
