Teresa is Indian, so the couple held a traditional Indian ceremony called the Mylanchi Ideel at an Indian restaurant in Westchester the night before the wedding. On the wedding day, George tied a traditional wedding chain around his bride’s neck and presented her with a wedding sari.

Teresa’s eight bridesmaids all wore pink silk Vera Wang dresses. The matron of honor, Teresa’s sister, wore a V-neck mermaid-style dress with dark pink back lacing, while the maids wore strapless dresses with corset details and rose grosgrain belts.

The five-tiered chocolate cake had raspberry filling and ivory-colored buttercream frosting. It was adorned with autumn-colored roses and calla lilies cascading down from the top.

Teresa and George don’t quite agree on how they got together, other than that they met at work and began dating within a month. “He definitely asked me out, but he claims that I hit on him,” says Teresa. After Sunday brunch and a museum visit, George took Teresa back to their apartment. “I opened the door and stopped dead in my tracks,” she recalls. “There were rose petals and candles everywhere, champagne, and a slideshow playing on the TV with pictures of us over the past three years.” George then got down on one knee and proposed.
