The bridesmaids’ black satin Vera Wang cocktail dresses with grosgrain ribbons coordinated with the details of the day. For a burst of color, they carried bouquets of yellow roses and freesia, and green hypericum berries and Kermit mums.

The ceremony programs reflected the woodsy elegance theme with a black-and-white bird motif, an elegant green scroll design and green grosgrain ribbon.

Aimee and Tom held their ceremony in a quaint stone chapel in the heart of Beaver Creek. The rustic church provided amazing views of the mountains, nearby woods and creek.

For an effortless romantic style, Aimee wore side-swept bangs and pinned her low-chignon with a custom-made floral comb and chapel-length veil.

During cocktail hour, guests were greeted on the hotel terrace with Prosecco and sparkling water. A lime garnish provided a citrus twist and a pop of color.

Guests’ names were attached to glass pinecones, which were reminiscent of the cones Aimee found during Tom’s ski trip proposal. The pinecones doubled as favors.

Aimee and Tom brought their love for nature into the reception space with letter-pressed table cards depicting woodland creatures and flowers.

Blooming dendrobium branches and white hydrangeas sprouted from tall cylinder vases on each table. Beds of wheatgrass and spring flowers surrounded the arrangements, adding to the nature-inspired ambience.

Aimee and Tom shared their first dance to Etta James’ “At Last,” performed by Natalie Oliver Atherton and a nine-piece band called Dressed in Black. “It summed up our story very nicely,” said Aimee. “Everything had come together for us at last!”

Sparks flew among the fleece inside a California Patagonia store, where Aimee and Tom first met. The outdoor lovers were working in L.A. at the time and arranged to meet for coffee on Valentine’s Day. Exactly one year later, Tom whisked Aimee away to celebrate with a surprise trip to the Colorado slopes! The Bride Aimee Sadle, 35, designer The Groom Thomas (Tom) Brainard, 33, entrepreneur The Date May 25 The couple coincidentally ended up on a ski run called “Hook Up,” when Tom took off his skis and got down on one knee, sinking in waist-deep powder, to propose. Of course, Aimee said yes! The couple decided to move back to Tom’s home state of Colorado to plan their spring wedding high in the Rockies, where they got engaged.
