Not even the Atlantic Ocean could stop London native Andrew from getting together with Minnesotan Dorothy. Over the years, Andrew visited his godparents who live in Minnesota; their daughter is one of Dorothy’s best friends from school, so he often saw her when he was in the States. By the time Dorothy was in college, she and Andrew were an item. The Bride Dorothy Schilling, 25 sports public relations associate The Groom Andrew Tiernan, 28, captain in the British army The Date December 20 Two years later, Andrew popped the question on Christmas Eve while the pair were in St. Thomas. Since Andrew had various tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, the couple waited four years to get married. When they did, they honored their engagement season and Andrew’s British upbringing with a holiday-themed wedding and by having a uniformed Guard of Honour at the ceremony.
