Beauty Products That Are Definitely Worth The Splurge

by Abby Gardner

Not that you don't always want to look your best, but in the events leading up to your wedding — and of course the big day itself — you REALLY want to be the most gorgeous girl in the room. Seriously, there's never a time when you'll be photographed more often.

These five products may cost a little more than you're used to, but they're worth it. We swear.

1. Youth Serum

Yes, it's VERY expensive. But you only need a drop or two to cover your entire face so it lasts a long, long time. Use it under your moisturizer (and of course never forget a broad spectrum SPF!) and your face will have a glow unlike one you've seen before.

Skin Caviar Liquid Lift Gravity Defiant Lifting Serum, La Prairie, $500,

2. Hair Oil

I use this product regularly to keep my somewhat dry, frizzy hair under control — but it works on all hair types. Use it in the months leading up to your wedding to keep it soft and manageable. Plus it also protects it from heat styling and the salt and chlorine you may encounter on your honeymoon.

Huile de Palme, Leonor Greyl, $52,

3. Hair Dryer

This is the best hair dryer we've ever used. No joke. And the man who created it, super stylist Harry Josh, knows from amazing hair. Gisele and Gwyneth and myriad other supermodels and A-list actresses would agree. It's super powerful, but also lightweight, so it is easy to pack for your bachelorette or your honeymoon.

Pro Dryer 2000, Harry Josh Pro Tools, $250,

4. Cleanser

As you prep for your wedding, why clean your face with anything but the best? This Swiss treat is specifically designed to control oil and keep your face's natural moisture intact. Sign us up!

Mineral Balancing Foaming Cleanser, L.Raphael, approx $100,

5. Lipstick

The pigment, the texture, the way it lasts on our lips — these are just three of the important reasons we should shell out for this lipstick (in pretty much any color.) Also, we're not gonna lie that we like owning a little piece of Tom Ford.

Lip Color Shine, Tom Ford, $48,

6. Concealer

Surratt is a brand new line created by celebrity makeup artist Troy Surratt, onetime protégé of the master, Kevyn Aucoin. Surratt spent years developing the perfect formulas for all of his products and we especially love the concealer. It goes on so smoothly and gives that look of “your skin but better."

Surréaliste Skin Concealer (in 8 shades), Surratt Beauty, $50,
