Wedding Gown: Can I Wear My Wedding Gown at Two Receptions?

Q: We are getting married in Greece, and only our immediate family will attend our destination wedding because of the distance. Upon our return, we will have two wedding receptions (one in each of our home towns). Should I wear my wedding gown to everything?

A: Most couples who have additional wedding receptions such as the ones you're planning do not wear their wedding attire to these events. They usually choose to have photographs available for viewing or play a videotape of the ceremony for their guests. But since a lot of money was probably invested in the wedding dress, this might be a great opportunity to wear it again. Or the bride may decide to purchase another (less formal) wedding dress to wear at the receptions. The important thing for both of you is to wear what makes you feel comfortable and beautiful.

My wedding dress is a ball gown, and while I love the dramatic silhouette, I'm worried about walking around and dancing in it. How do I avoid tripping over a full skirt?
