How to Get Celebrity Makeup Looks From the Golden Globes

by Tia Albright

Whether your wedding will take place in a formal ballroom or you'll be exchanging vows on a sandy beach, your makeup should fit the scene. Inspired by the red carpet of the Golden Globes, we broke down three of our favorite celebrity makeup looks from the evening to show you how to snag the look for your day.

Kate Winslet's Sophisticated, Red Pout

Perfect For: An elegant wedding in a ballroom or a country club

How to Get the Look

Eyes: Apply dark eyeliner along your upper lash line -- celebrity makeup artist Jillian Dempsey used Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Kohl Eyeliner in black for Kate -- and follow with a sweep of dark brown eyeliner along the lower lashes. Next, apply a light layer of neutral eye shadow. Dempsey used Lancome Color Design Eye Shadow in Chic. Finish with several coats of black mascara. Dempsey used Lancome Oscillation Mascara.
Cheeks: For the perfect sun-kissed look, brighten cheeks with a dusting of both coral and peach blush.
Lips: Finish with a va-va-voom red lipstick -- Dempsey used Avon Pro-to-Go Lipstick in Cherry Glisten.

Penelope Cruz's Sexy, Smoky Eyes

Perfect For: An evening city wedding at a restaurant or a loft

How to Get the Look

Foundation: After prepping skin with a tinted moisturizer, set it with a translucent powder for a shimmering finish. Makeup artist and Stila Cosmetics founder Jeanine Lobell used Chanel Poudre Cristalline Ultra-Fine Translucent Powder on Penelope.
Eyes: Create a smoky eye by blending a matte brown shadow (she used Chanel Irréelle Duo Silky Eyeshadow Duo in Brun-Express) into the crease and follow with a smoky line under the eye. Next, define your eyes with a black liner (Lobell used Chanel Le Crayon Khol Intense Eye Pencil in Noir) on the lash line and inner lid, then finish with a few layers of rich, black mascara (try Chanel Inimitable Mascara Multi-Dimensionnel in Noir-Black).
Cheeks: Dust the cheeks with a rose-colored blush -- Lobell used Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rose Petale.
Lips: Finish with a clear gloss.

Mary-Louise Parker's Playful Eyes

Perfect For: A playful outdoor wedding on the beach, in a garden, or on a farm

How to Get the Look

Skin: Start by evening out your skin tone -- makeup artist Tina Turnbow used The Eraser by Tarte in Porcelain -- and follow with a light layer of foundation (try Tarte ReCreate Anti-Aging Foundation in Porcelain 00). To get a look that stays put, seal your foundation with mineral powder (Turnbow used Tarte Provocateur Pressed Mineral Powder).
Eyes: Rim your top and bottom lash lines with purple eye shadow (Parker is wearing Tarte Eye Couture Palette with purple shadows). Then, define your lash line with a layer of black mascara like Tarte Lash Hugger Eco-Friendly Natural Mascara.
Cheeks: Sweep your cheeks with pink blush (Turnbow used Tarte A Perfect Whirled Cheek Stain in pink).
Lips: Finish off the look with a blend of nude and natural sheer color like Tarte 24/7 Natural Lip Sheers in Champagne Brunch and Tea Time.
