When it comes to beautiful wedding dresses, it's hard to top the gown Grace Kelly wore when she married Monaco's Prince Rainier III on April 19, 1956. The high-neck, long sleeve dress was brought to life by MGM costume designer Helen Rose. The bodice was made from delicate Brussels lace and embellished with thousands of hand-sewn pearls, while the silk taffeta skirt boasted a long, elegant train. A circular veil completed what is considered one of the best celebrity wedding dresses ever, which continues to inspire countless brides to this day.

Audrey Hepburn's Wedding Dress

While the Givenchy wedding dress that Audrey Hepburn wore in Funny Face continues to be one of the most famous celebrity wedding dresses of all time, the ensemble that she wore to her first wedding to Mel Ferrer in 1954 packed just as much vintage glamor. The tea-length dress was designed by Pierre Balmain and featured a high neck and puffy sleeves, which she wore with elbow-length white gloves and a white rosebud crown in her hair.

We still haven't gotten over seeing Meghan Markle arrive at Saint George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, wearing an immaculately white, thoughtfully minimal custom dress by Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy. Notable for its strategic simplicity, the design showcased the bride's natural beauty with a graceful bateau neckline. And don't even get us started on her slinky second wedding dress by Stella McCartney, which lives on as one of our favorite celebrity reception dresses ever.

Gabrielle Union's Wedding Dress

Actress Gabrielle Union chose a timeless wedding dress shape for her 2014 wedding to NBA star Dwyane Wade. Union worked with designer Dennis Basso to create her custom strapless sweetheart ball gown to fit the wedding's fairytale theme. The groom matched in a monochrome look too, as he opted for a white suit with a white bow tie to complement his wife's outfit.

Sofia Richie's Wedding Dress

It was the wedding that broke the internet. In April 2023, Sofia Richie married music executive Elliot Grainge in a lavish destination wedding that catapulted "quiet luxury" into the zeitgeist. The model and beauty entrepreneur wore three custom Chanel wedding dresses throughout the wedding weekend and was highly involved in the design process for each. The bride opted for a fitted high-neck gown for the ceremony, complete with scalloped edges and intricate lace. She changed into a structured mini dress for the reception, telling Vogue, "I can dance, [and] I can move. I love it! It's traditional Chanel. I will be eating pizza and fries in this dress. Pray for this dress."

Of all the trendy celebrity wedding dresses we've seen, Ariana Grande's remains one of our favorites. The Grammy Award-winner tapped design maven Vera Wang for her gown—in fact, Vogue reported that the two began scheming up wedding dress ideas at one Met Gala party years before Grande was even planning a wedding. She ultimately channeled Audrey Hepburn for her 2021 nuptials to Dalton Gomez, opting for a custom silk empire-waist column gown, which had a sculpted neckline, an exposed bra-strap closure, and a plunging back. For a trendy finish, the dress was accented with a statement shoulder-length hand-pleated bubble veil that had a silk bow on the top. Wang took to Instagram to reflect on the design experience, saying Grande was "a truly magical muse."

    Hailey Bieber's Wedding Dress

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's 2019 wedding was one of the most anticipated of the year. Many speculated about what the bride would wear, especially because the couple officially got married at a courthouse a year earlier. Baldwin turned to Virgil Abloh of the brand Off-White to design her custom gown: a form-fitted long sleeve off-the-shoulder lace dress. She added a trailing veil with "TILL DEATH DO US PART" stitched along the bottom. After the ceremony, the new Mrs. Bieber traded her wedding dress for a second ceremony look from Ralph & Russo. The sultry style had a high neckline that was reminiscent of Meghan Markle's reception look. For an edgy touch, she added a leather jacket with "Wifey" scrawled on the back. To this day, Hailey Bieber's wedding dress remains one of the highest-searched wedding dresses, according to Google Analytics.

    Samantha Hanratty's Wedding Dress

The Knot had the exclusive first look inside Yellowjackets actress Samantha Hanratty's wedding to Christian DeAnda. The November 2023 nuptials took place at a vineyard in San Luis Obispo County, and our former cover star stunned in a strapless ball gown by Chic Nostalgia, which had a plunging V-neckline and a wispy tulle skirt covered in Swiss dots and 3D flowers.

"I had planned to get my wedding dress in the Los Angeles area, but while I was visiting my mom one weekend, we decided to stop into Epiphany Boutique in San Luis Obispo to try on a few dresses and find a style I liked," the bride told us. "When I put on the first dress, we all loved it. But when I put on the second dress, everyone gasped. It was the dress!"

    Taylor Hill's Wedding Dress

Model Taylor Hill wore one of our favorite celebrity wedding dresses in recent years. The former Victoria's Secret Angel wed businessman Daniel Fryer at Colorado's Devil's Thumb Ranch on June 10, 2023. With the great American West as their backdrop, the bride opted for a custom Etro wedding dress that had an off-the-shoulder neckline and an airy tiered skirt. "This is [actually] the first wedding dress that Etro has ever made!" Hill told Vogue. "When they sent me the sketches of it, I was like, 'It's like you're in my head. My favorite part of the dress is probably the top and the sleeves. It gives it the element of romance that I was looking for."

    Nicola Peltz's Wedding Dress

What do you wear when you marry the son of Posh Spice? Valentino, of course. Model Nicola Peltz tapped the Italian fashion house to design the minimal and chic dress she wore to wed Brooklyn Beckham, son of David and Victoria. The final result—a clean column dress with a square neckline, thick straps, and an attached train—was accessorized with lace gloves, a lavish veil, and chunky Versace platform heels.

    Sophia Bush's Wedding Dress

Sophia Bush was simply a vision in her stunning botanical-inspired wedding dress by Monique Lhuillier. The actress selected a whimsical off-the-shoulder ball gown with balloon sleeves and a pink floral print for her Tulsa, Oklahoma wedding to entrepreneur Grant Hughes in July 2022. The night before the wedding, she also donned an "elevated cowboy" dress by Roksanda, with an attached cape, chunky belt and Western-inspired hat.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker had quite a few international wedding celebrations, including a late-night Vegas vow swap and a courthouse ceremony. While the A-list bride and groom wore memorable looks for all, nothing compares to Kardashian's wedding dress worn in Portofino, Italy. Given that the multi-day wedding weekend was hosted by Dolce & Gabbana, the Italian fashion brand also designed her now-famous wedding dress: a one-of-a-kind silk lace and satin mini frock. The standout detail, though, was her veil. The brand's Instagram page revealed that the headpiece, which featured a large depiction of the Virgin Mary and the words "family loyalty respect," was inspired by one of Barker's tattoos. She completed the look with white gloves and lace pumps.

    Paris Hilton's Wedding Dress

For her November 2021 wedding to Carter Reum, Paris Hilton wore an elegant wedding dress similar to styles worn by her mom, Kathy, and sister, Nikki—and all three women were undoubtedly inspired by Grace Kelly's beautiful wedding dress. Paris opted for a timeless long sleeve lace creation by Oscar de la Renta, though it wasn't her only look of the party. In fact, it was just one of 11! Following the ceremony, she changed into an off-the-shoulder tulle ball gown by Galia Lahav. "I envisioned a princess," Galia Lahav head designer told The Knot. "I knew the effect of the fabric would be flawless on the dance floor. I added a slit that was hardly noticeable so Paris would be able to move freely in the dress."

    Britney Spears' Wedding Dress

The Princess of Pop certainly deserved an unforgettable celebrity wedding dress. Donatella Versace designed Britney Spears' wedding look for her intimate fairytale-themed nuptials to dancer Sam Asghari, which took place at their home in Los Angeles. For the Christian service, the bride wore a long-sleeve fitted A-line wedding dress by Ralph Lauren, which was studded with more than two million sequins and finished with a showstopping 75-foot veil. The ethereal design had an asymmetrical hand draped French tulle bodice that led into a macramé lace skirt, veiled with a dramatic tulle overlay. For her second look, she changed into a sage green macramé lace A-line gown with a dramatic nude tulle overlay, a high neck and delicate cap sleeve accents. She completed the ensemble by weaving green and purple flowers into her hair.

But when it finally came time to walk down the aisle on May 24, 2014, she stunned in one of the most memorable celebrity wedding dresses of the 21st century: a custom lace mermaid gown, crafted by her close friend, Givenchy's Ricardo Tisci. In addition to its form-fitting silhouette, the gown featured a sheer lace back with sheer paneling at the waist, long lace sleeves and a train, topped off with a cathedral-length veil. Sarah Jessica Parker didn't want to make a fuss over her wedding, so when she and Matthew Broderick tied the knot on May 19, 1997, she wore a Morgan Le Fay dress she found hanging in one of her favorite stores. The catch? The dress, which featured spaghetti straps and a tiered skirt, was black! The actress thought that wearing a black dress wouldn't attract any attention, but it was the very thing that made the dress one of the most famous celebrity wedding dresses for years to come. While SJP has since said that she regrets wearing a black dress, she's worn several traditional wedding dresses on screen, not to mention the Vera Wang wedding dress she wore to the 2017 Golden Globes.

Designed by Carolina Herrera, the gown had a round neck, short sleeves and a long bodice embroidered with white shamrocks (a nod to her father's Irish ancestry). For her final walk down the aisle to marry playwright Arthur Miller in 1956, she wore a light beige, curve-hugging sheath, designed by Norman Norell and John Moore.
