Wedding Reception Style: Creating a Wedding Reception Video Slideshow?

Q: My fiance and I really want our wedding guests to get to know each other. We've collected lots of pictures of them over the years, and now we want to put together a video or slide show that can be played during the wedding reception. How do we go about doing this?

A: What a great idea! Rummage through those old photo albums and collect favorite pictures of wedding guests (sentimental, hideous, adorable, whatever appeals). Then have your wedding videographer translate the photos (in a continuous loop if possible) to videotape. You can play the tape during reception cocktail hour, maybe using several monitors. Family and friends will get a kick out of seeing themselves in bell-bottoms and pouffy '80s hair. Another option? Rent an overhead slide projector and white screen to make your own movie magic!

What's the Basic Wedding Reception Timeline?

I'm not certain about the order of events at the wedding reception. Could you please give a rough timeline of the following events: receiving line, cocktail hour, first dance, champagne toast, best man's and maid of honor's speeches, dinner and cake cutting? I'm so clueless!
