Danea & Tony: A Passion for Purple in Reisterstown, MD
Danea Byrd met Tony Cline when they worked at the same local restaurant. The jobs were just a summertime gig for each, looking to make some extra money. "We quickly became best friends and were inseparable," says Danea. "We've been together since."

MAKING PLANS After Tony proposed (by pointing to a giant heart in the sand on Myrtle Beach that read: Danea will you marry me?) Danea became a self-proclaimed full-time wedding planner. "Tony jokingly complained that he never got to see me anymore," says Danea. "It was intense!" After choosing the Grey Rock Mansion for the ceremony and reception site, she focused on design, choosing the color purple as an accent. "I love the color and incorporated it everywhere," she admits. Table centerpieces featured purple iris; the bridesmaids wore lilac-color dresses; the invitations had a wisteria-pattern overlay on them; and the three-tier wedding cake featured a light-purple scroll design over the fondant icing.
A GARDEN CEREMONY The ceremony unfolded behind the mansion in the garden. "All summer long we were really worried about the weather," says Danea. "It had been rainy for months. It was almost as if we had one really long spring, and no summer at all. But we were blessed with what I believe was the most beautiful day of the year. It was sunny with not a cloud in the sky." A violinist, classical guitarist, and flutist played as guests arrived and took their seats. "The ceremony was extremely special because my godfather was our minister," says Danea. "He's seen me grow from a child to a woman, and now he was going to be the person who ushered us into the newest part of our lives." When she first saw Tony as she walked down the aisle, her eyes were focused on his gentle smile. "I felt like I was walking on a cloud," she says.
A JOYFUL CELEBRATION The intimate ceremony gave way to a fabulous celebration under a tent overlooking the gardens. "The catering at Grey Rock Mansion was fantastic," says Danea, who raves about selections like the lobster fondue, bourbon shrimp, and herb-encrusted tenderloin. Later, dancing took place in the ballroom of the mansion; the newlyweds enjoyed the spotlight until the final song, Norah Jones's "Come Away With Me" was played.
