Wedding Ceremony: Do Child Attendants Stand in the Wedding Ceremony?

Q: I am planning to have two flower girls and two ring bearers in my wedding. What is the proper etiquette for child attendants -- should they stand with the rest of the bridal party throughout the wedding ceremony or should they sit down after they walk to the front? I am worried about how they will behave if they have to stand at the altar.

A: Let your ring bearers and flower girls have their moment while walking down the aisle, but then have them sit down with their respective parents. Their behavior will be best if they sit with Mom or Dad. In addition, you may want to think about giving each kid a gift (perhaps a toy that's handheld and very quiet) to keep them occupied during the ceremony. Not only will their parents appreciate it immensely, but it will ease your nerves as well.

I have a wedding budget that allows for about 150 guests, but my fiance and I have so many friends that our current list already exceeds 250! I keep looking at it and just can't cut any names without feeling terrible. How can we trim our wedding guest list without the guilt?
