Wedding Reception Etiquette: Do Parents Do Reception Table Visits?

Q: Should the bride and groom's parents greet everyone at the wedding reception by going around to their dinner tables?

A: Generally, the bride and groom themselves do that, but parents should feel free to introduce themselves and thank all the wedding guests, either during the wedding reception cocktail hour or after dinner during the reception. They'll also get a chance to meet and greet in the receiving line. But neither the bride's nor the groom's parents must go table to table -- that's really the couple's thing (and even they don't necessarily have to do it).

What's the Basic Wedding Reception Timeline?

I'm not certain about the order of events at the wedding reception. Could you please give a rough timeline of the following events: receiving line, cocktail hour, first dance, champagne toast, best man's and maid of honor's speeches, dinner and cake cutting? I'm so clueless!
