Wedding Insurance: Do We Need Renters Insurance?

Q: We're getting married in a few months and having a large wedding. I'm anticipating receiving a lot of wedding gifts and I'm worried about how safe they'll be once they're in our apartment. We live in a neighborhood that I love, but some people consider it spotty (our downstairs neighbors recently had their apartment broken into). Is there anything I can do to ensure the safety of my gifts?

A: Yes! You should absolutely get renter's insurance as soon as you're married. It's usually not terribly expensive, and you'll be protecting your apartment *and* all the new goodies in it not just from theft, but from loss and damages due to any number of natural disasters. Don't delay setting up a policy.

What's the Basic Wedding Reception Timeline?

I'm not certain about the order of events at the wedding reception. Could you please give a rough timeline of the following events: receiving line, cocktail hour, first dance, champagne toast, best man's and maid of honor's speeches, dinner and cake cutting? I'm so clueless!
