Hayley Paige: 5 Celebrity Weddings I’m Inspired By
In wedding dress designer Hayley Paige's latest installment for The Knot, she tells us the five celebrity weddings she's most inspired by — and they're just as fun and fashionable as she is!
See them below:
1. My sister's wedding
She had a surprise wedding and planned the whole shebang-bang in one week! It was a phenomenal and thrilling moment, especially for all her guests. She brazenly gave up all the bridal hoopla (the bridal shower, bachelorette party and registry) for some seriously romantical and fantastical shock-and-awe.
2. Amal and George Clooney
I read an article the other day about the “new kind of trophy wife" and absolutely loved the implication of locking down a fabulous, well-educated woman — who also happens to be a classic beauty. As I mentioned before, she has defined what I now call your “Amalment"; an entire wedding wardrobe weekend of perfection. And lastly, I love how humbling she's made Hollywood's most notorious bachelor.
3. Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip from Sleeping Beauty
Assuming the ending scene is actually a wedding, I love the ballroom dance part where Flora, Fauna and Merryweather keep changing Aurora's gown from pink to blue. To this day, I appreciate design elements that have versatility in color. This was actually the inspiration for my Dori gown; the skirt color is an iridescent combination of pink, blue and ivory. It catches different shades depending on the light.
4. Poppy Delevingne and James Cook
You know what's better than a wedding? Two weddings… especially when your first stop in London and then you jet-set to Marrakesh for round two. With two special days to shine, a serious A-list
attendance and some majorly on-point fashion choices, I just #canteven.
5. Priscilla and Elvis Presley
A classic tale of a normal-girl-becomes-Graceland-royalty-overnight; when the world's most eligible top-earning entertainer marries a non-celeb. A lot of people don't know this, but in true Vegas fashion, they had a 9am wedding complete with oysters Rockefeller and lobster buffet brunch. I also love the famous photo of him kissing Priscilla. It is beautiful display of how even a legend of
rock and roll isn't a King without his Queen.

Hayley Paige, head designer of Jim Hjelm, Blush and Hayley Paige bridal collections, made a jump start in fashion by interning for Nina Garcia at Elle magazine while attending Cornell University. She went on to work in ready-to-wear for Jill Stuart after receiving honorary attention for her 10-piece bridal collection shown during her graduating year. Eventually, her dedication to all things creative led to designing and styling abroad where she developed an appreciation for European influences. Paige established herself as an integral designer for the Melissa Sweet bridal and bridesmaid collections and was the primary designer behind the first Marchesa Eterna bridal collection at Priscilla of Boston. Her contributions can be found in highly sought-after bridal publications, as well as nation-wide bridal boutiques.
