City-by-City Guide: Hip New York Wedding Hotels

From premier event planning to luxe bridal suites, here are some of the best hotels for your New York wedding.

Star Service

At the historic Waldorf-Astoria in New York, engaged couples can sign up for the hotel’s customized Astoria Service program, which means an on-site coordinator will assist you with everything from choosing the right ballroom to delivering welcome bags for your guests. (212) 355-3000

Elegant Ballroom

The Grand Ballroom at the Hilton Pearl River in Rockland County is decorated in the same French chateau-style as the rest of its location, with floor-to-ceiling windows for a view of the breathtaking grounds. The ballroom can seat up to 600 people and hosts a full-sized dance floor so no one has to sit out a song out. (845) 735-9000

Romantic Suite

Romance is taken to a new level in the Royal Suite at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park. “They offer couples their own bath butler with a rose petal turn-down service,” says event planner Maya Kalman of Swank Productions. After your soak in the marble tub, relax in a bed with 700 thread-count jacquard cotton sheets, custom designed for the hotel by Pratesi. (212) 308-9100

Group Accommodations

No matter what time of year you wed, there’s plenty that will keep your guests occupied at The Sagamore on Lake George. Event planner Christine Wheat tipped us off to this hotel, where your guests can kayak, sail or swim in the lake during the summer months, or ski the snowy trails in winter. (518) 644-9400

Private Dining

Consider hosting your rehearsal dinner in the middle of Manhattan -- minus the hustle and bustle -- at the Gramercy Park Hotel. The Private Roof Club and Garden is a chic locale that gives you and your guests the utmost privacy. Hold an intimate dinner under the stars, or hold your affair indoors and dine near one of the wood and gas-burning fireplaces. (212) 920-3300

Luxe Locale

Located 30 minutes outside of New York City, the Castle on the Hudson in Tarrytown is perfect for the couple that wants the royal treatment, says event planner Preeti Shah of Spotlight Style. This historic property features gorgeous grounds, Frette linens, in-room spa treatments, and high tea every afternoon. (914) 631-1980

Party Perk

The celebration doesn’t have to end at the Garden City Hotel in Long Island. After your DJ or band has packed it in for the night, reserve space for you and your guests in the hotel’s Posh Ultra Lounge for the after party. The private party space has a DJ on-hand spinning the latest tunes, full bar, champagne service, as well as small plates of caviar and sushi. (516) 747-3000

Historic Spot

Want to wed at a place with a sense of history? Check out OHEKA Castle
in Huntington. Built in 1914, all of the OHEKA’s guest rooms have views of the beautiful 23-acre estate. Hold your ceremony in the blooming gardens or outside on the veranda. Bonus: OHEKA only hosts one event per day. (631) 659-1400
