Wedding Ceremony: Include Son in Wedding Ring Ceremony?

I have a three-year-old son who is not the child of my fiance. We want to honor him as a part of our new family by also giving him a ring during our wedding ceremony. Is that appropriate? My fiance really loves him and wants to adopt him, and we thought this would be a nice way of showing that.

Many couples choose to include their children in their ceremonies by having a family ring ceremony. You two exchange your vows, and then your son comes up and you both make vows to love and support him and to start your marriage as a new family. Whether or not he is your fiance's son is not important. He loves your son and is going to be his dad, and this is a beautiful way to symbolize that commitment. Talk to your officiant.
