Maris Emanuel and Andrew Kastanos took their Charleston, South Carolina, wedding to the next level with incredible details and personal twists. To make all of their ideas a reality, they hired the amazing stylist and planning team at Calder Clark. Every last element fit their theme, from the custom wedding crest to the elaborate reception tent.

Equally as important as the visual details was the vibe. To leave more time for dancing with friends and family, they nixed the salad at dinnertime, and their design team built an amazing lounge area, perfect for mingling, to keep the party going. Below, an inside look at their stunning spring ceremony. Kudos to their amazing photographers at A Bryan Photo for capturing the day.

  1. The Custom Wedding Crest...

Maris and Andrew worked with Cheree Berry Paper, who helped them create a custom flower crest for the invitations, RSVPs and escort cards. The company "mixed Southern charm and youthfulness" to design a stationery suite that was unique and personal. The designs were done with a primarily pink palette, with touches of green and blue.

  2. ...Which Also Appeared on the Programs

The programs were equal parts whimsical and elegant.

  3. The Riverside Venue

Maris and Andrew's venue was special: It was set at the Lowndes Grove Plantation on Charleston's picturesque Ashley River. An added bonus? The cool spring breeze!

  4. The Flowy Bridesmaid Dresses

"I wanted my bridesmaids to feel as beautiful as I did on my wedding day," Maris recalls. The blush dresses were both comfortable and romantic, which is exactly what she was looking for. And since each bridesmaid used her own personal jewelry and shoes, their looks were fresh and unique.

  5. The Romantic Bouquets

The pink and white wedding bouquets were absolutely charming.

  6. The Chic Lounge Area

Comfortable guests are happy guests. We love how Maris and Andrew added a lounge area for everyone to kick back and relax.

  7. The Unique Mood Lighting

Both Maris and wedding planner Calder Clark were heavily inspired by Morocco, and they included elements of that style, like the golden chandeliers, into the wedding decor.

  8. The Pretty Patterned Wedding Cake

The couple nixed a traditional all-white wedding cake and served a round, four-tier stunner created by the designers at Wedding Cakes by Jim Smeal. Preppy white and gold patterns decorated each of the lemon-sponge-cake and chocolate-raspberry layers.

  9. The Preppy Escort Cards

White and pink tassel escort cards directed guests to their seats.

  10. The Handcrafted Cocktails

Servers walked around with wooden trays serving champagne topped with a splash of cranberry juice (meant to complement the waiters' pink houndstooth bow ties!). Maris and Andrew also created their own signature cocktails for guests to enjoy: "The Mrs." was a light, fizzy combination of vodka, soda, lime juice and cucumber; "The Mr." was an old-fashioned and included whiskey, bitters, fresh orange slices and maraschino cherries.

  11. The Table Decor

  12. The Lush Centerpieces
