Destination Weddings: Marrying in the Bahamas

Why Here?

This collection of 700 mini-islands has something for every sun-loving couple, whether you're looking for the complete privacy of your own island, an uber-luxurious hotel, scuba diving around the third largest barrier reef in the world, or a thumping nightlife fuelled by plenty of Goombay Smashes. Base yourself in Nassau if you want your guests to be able to stroll the straw market and see historic homes, but if lazy days by the beach are more your speed, try the Exumas or Paradise Island.

What to Know

  • Although the weather is consistent year round, avoid hurricane season from June 1 to November 30.

  • Beware of spring breakers descending in droves in February and March.

  • Remember to bring plenty of blotting paper to combat the humidity.
