Wedding Vendors: Preserving the Wedding Video?

Q:

How can I make sure that my wedding video stays in good condition so we can enjoy it for years to come?

A:

It's a good idea to take precautions to preserve the quality of your wedding video so you can have lasting viewing enjoyment. As soon as you receive your video from your videographer, break the safety tab on the edge of the tape to avoid accidentally taping over it. You should also make copies of your video and store them in a fireproof box. Store your tapes upright, in a place with moderate temperatures and humidity levels and away from electronic equipment, which contains magnetic components that can erode your video over time.
