City-by-City Guide: Stylish Minnesota Ceremony Sites

Gorgeous places to host your ceremony in Minnesota.

1. Hot Hotel

Wow your guests with a ceremony under the stars at the Skygarden atop the Crowne Plaza Northstar Hotel in Minneapolis. Nicolle Sellers of Mother of the Bride loves this space for its natural setting with seasonal trees and flowers. (612) 338-2288

2. Chapel of Love

Traditional brides wanting something unique can marry at The Enchanted Barn near Hillsdale, Wisconsin. This 1800s barn loft has been turned into a romantic chapel for intimate ceremonies with an organic feel.

3. Elegant Era

History buffs will fall in love with the Landmark Center in St. Paul, where you can exchange vows in one of four historic, restored courtrooms in this four-story, century-old building -- a top pick of Joan Nilsen of Wedding Planning by Ambiente.

4. Animal Kingdom

At the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley, pick your favorite species to witness your nuptials: a thatched canopy by a tropical rainforest amid exotic animals, birds, and fish native to Southeast Asia, or Discovery Bay, complete with underwater viewing of sharks and dolphins.

5. Beyond the Sea

The Minnesota Boat Club on Raspberry Island: It’s a little bit rustic and incredibly charming. With its original light fixtures, functional fireplace, and stored rowing boats, this site on the Mississippi River—a favorite of Laura Hotvet of Mother of the Bride—can accommodate intimate, waterside gatherings.

6. Estate Grandeur

Whether you prefer the great outdoors (on a 100-foot long open-air veranda) or the elegant indoors (an exquisite sit down dinner in a grand ballroom), the Cedarhurst Mansion in Cottage Grove offers the best of both worlds.

7. Museum Magic

Modern romance unfolds at the Walker Art Center , where you can say “I do” on a terrace against a backdrop of downtown Minneapolis. Added bonus: this state-of-the-art facility enlisted Wolfgang Puck as its exclusive caterer.

8. Ballroom Bound

Princess brides can make their fairy-tale wedding dreams come true at the Semple Mansion and Grand Palladian Ballroom in Minneapolis. Decorated with restored fresco paintings on the ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and mahogany woodwork, exchange vows before a stone and marble fireplace fit for royalty.

9. Lakeside View

The perfect site for nautical-inspired nuptials, the BayView Event Center allows you to declare your love for one another on a cobblestone patio overlooking Excelsior Bay on Lake Minnetonka.

10. Garden Charm

Nature-loving brides look no further. Say “I do” at the Scherer Gardens in Eagan and you’ll be surrounded by over six acres of flowerbeds, shrubs, ponds, waterfalls, and fountains. Jennifer Johnson of Heartstrings Wedding and Event Planning directed us to this lush paradise where you hold your ceremony in a bed of vibrant seasonal blooms.
