Forget Paris—Watch a Couple Get Engaged in Virtual Reality

Don’t let the bulky headset throw you—this techy proposal is virtually genius.
by Maggie Seaver

One recent groom-to-be created a virtual reality game to propose to his girlfriend Autumn, and we're totally on board with his futuristic scheme. His brother, not wearing virtual reality goggles, filmed the computer screen beside Autumn to show us exactly what she was seeing inside the custom-animated VR world.

Walking Autumn through the colorful game, her boyfriend leads her to the sweetest “handwritten" love note, which reads:

“I love you. I love everything about you. You mean the world to me. I don't ever want to lose you. So with the approval of your mom and grandma, I have something to ask you."

Eek! An arrow directs Autumn from the sign to her right, where the real surprise awaits. A purple box with a big pink bow sits on a pedestal in a patch of green grass, surrounded by flowers. Above, a giant heart made of pink ribbon hides the final question. As Autumn slowly unwraps the ribbon, she realizes what's happening and—well, we don't want to give away her amazing reaction. See the video below for some sweet VR proposal inspo.
