September 6 | Jekyll Island

Venue: Crane Cottage, Jekyll Island Club Hotel

Q: When you started your gown search, what did you have in mind?
I wanted an old Hollywood feel. Something age appropriate—simple elegance, yet personal.

Q: Did you have any restrictions when choosing your gown?
No, initially I really wanted ivory, lightweight and with a train, but ultimately I chose a far more traditional dress than I had originally envisioned for my look.

Q: Your hair combs were lovely. Did they have special meaning?
The combs were my “something borrowed.” They were very special because my sister-in-law loaned them to me and she had worn them in her wedding, after her mother (my mother-in -law) renewed her vows while wearing them.

Q: How did your bridesmaids reflect your classic, elegant style?
Black, floor-length chiffon was the only requirement. I hoped my bridesmaids would select a black dress they would wear again versus something that looked more like a typical bridesmaid dress.

Jennifer & Greg

April 25 | Atlanta

Venue: The Wimbish Mansion

Q: You had a fun experience while developing your look, didn’t you?
I started to look for images of what my wedding was “supposed” to be, but then I came across a picture of a pretty brunette in a fun dress and hot pink shoes. I started thinking about Greg, our life, and what would represent our personalities. What would be more fun than keeping my classic style wedding and adding a splash of pink?

Q: How did you narrow down your dress?
Oh…I love my dress! My dress is actually the first one that I ever tried on. I tried on somewhere around 10 dresses before narrowing it down to two and choosing the first.

Q: What was your favorite part of the experience?
The staff at Anne Barge is amazing! They literally made me feel like a princess. They poured us champagne and let my mom take pictures of me trying on my wedding gown.

Q: Tell us about those shoes!
I wore pink satin, Christian Louboutin sling-backs. Originally, they were pretty expensive, but I found them cheaper online. I actually got them as gifts for my bridesmaids as well.

Q: Do you have any style tricks to share with other brides?
The thing that I loved the most about my dress was the fact that it had pockets! I would definitely recommend pockets if possible!
