Wedding Details: Who Hands Out Wedding Bubbles?

Q:

I have decided to use wedding bubbles instead of wedding rice (don't want to harm our feathered friends). Do I need someone to hand them out?

A:

Way to be environmentally conscientious! As to who should hand out the bubbly, you have a couple of options. First, you can designate one of your attendants to stand at the church door. Seeing that you'll probably want your friends helping you during this last moment of singledom, give the job to your junior bridesmaid. Don't have one? If your flower girl is old enough, she will be thrilled to do it. If she can barely walk on her own, ask her mom to help.

Wedding Guest List: Invite Officiant to Wedding Reception?

We are having the ceremony and the reception at the same site. Our officiant is a wonderful man who we like very much, but we only met him recently. We are paying him for his services, but I thought it would be appropriate to ask him to stay for the wedding reception. My mother thinks that it's not necessary, and that we should ask him to stay only for cocktails. My father doesn't think we need to invite him at all. What should we do?
