Extraordinary!Reviewed on 7/18/2012 Amanda I
Nichole Chavez is a talented, professional, and easy going photographer! I contacted her a few months before our wedding, and (like other reviewers mentioned) she emailed back almost immediately to set up a meeting. During the meeting she was careful to listen to our vision, took lots of notes, and showed me sample pictures to make sure she understood our photography wishes. We wanted high quality pictures that would capture the meaningful moments throughout the day, which requires more than a good camera--it requires talent! I'm of the mind that anyone can line up a bridal party and take photos, but it takes someone with talent to capture a moment and turn it into art. Nichole Chavez is this person. During the wedding day she was present, courteous, and professional. Our post-ceremony photos didn't take long at all, even though we have about 40 different groupings of people. During the reception, Nichole and her assistant took photos for hours, never being intrusive. We just got the photos back yesterday, and they are incredible! If you're thinking of working with Nichole, don't hesitate.
Memories for a lifetimeReviewed on 7/10/2012 Elizabeth W
Nichole Chavez of A Love Story Photography was great! We emailed her several months in advance of our wedding, and she responded within hours offering to set up a meeting. It went very well. Our personalities and vision seemed to match up, and she'd shot at our venue before (a plus in my book!). Since that first contact, everything else has been so easy. We booked the four-hour package originally, and just weeks before the wedding asked if we could add more time. "Not a problem!" we were assured, despite the late date. The day of was just as easy. Nichole and her assistant arrived early, shooting all of the exterior photos before I even saw her, then moving between the bridal dressing room, groom's room, and chapel to get all kinds of awesome photos. She and her assistant were unobtrusive, but they got so many wonderful shots! The posed photos were just as easy. We'd drafted a list in advance, and both Nichole and her assistant had brought copies. They lined everyone up and composed the photos quickly and efficiently, so there wasn't a long delay for our guests. The ceremony and reception were equally wonderful. I barely noticed Nichole and her assistant moving around, taking pictures, but there are so many pictures of us laughing, hugging, greeting guests, and of the guests in candid poses! Given how quickly everything flew by, I'm grateful for all the candid pictures. We received our photos yesterday, just two weeks after the wedding (and over a week early!), and they're all very high quality. I didn't expect poor work, of course, but I'm amazed at just how wonderful the final products are! Lighting is soft, and very natural, and everything has been gently rebalanced so that the reality of the day is highlighted--perfect captures of moments in time. We're just so happy with everything! The only thing I'd want to say is that the photos do not come with a copyright transfer. All photos remain copyright of A Love Story Photography with a release that any photo lab may print unlimited photos for the client in any size/medium desired. This is just fine with me, and not a departure from the norm for other photographers, but it might be an issue for some brides. Overall, we're thrilled with A Love Story Photography. If we decided to do a couple's shoot, or if we decide on family additions and portraits thereof, we'll definitely be calling again.
Good photos, forgot some thingsReviewed on 6/24/2011 Danielle G
Nicole Chavez and her assistant took lovely pictures, lots of romantic (not love-romantic, but era-romantic) pictures, dramatic shots, good candids. She was rather abrasive with certain family members (my matron of honor, who had to nurse her infant between pictures) and for the First Look picture, she didn't get ANY pictures of the groom's reaction to seeing me for the first time! She got all pictures of ME (I already know what I look like, so why do I care to have pictures of me?) So I'm really bummed that I didn't get my groom's reaction to my dress--just a picture of the back of his head. But all the other pictures were good.
