Adventure Stories // Photo + Film is a wedding and elopement photography/videography business based near Seattle, WA. Wherever you plan to say "I do," whether it's at a lavish hotel or your backyard, we will be there to capture the magic of your celebration. By recognizing that weddings are more than planned portraiture, we aim to create a mix of formal images and candid shots that reflect your personality and tell the story of your wedding day as it unfolds. Adventure Stories // Photo + Film is operated by husband-and-wife duo Vishnu and Megan. With our shared love of photography and filmmaking, we strive to provide a valuable service to all our clients. We got married in a private elopement and have a special interest in intimate weddings. Whatever your preferences or personal story, we will work closely with you to make your cherished memories last forever. Our WHY: As the clock ticks, the past increases as the road to the future recedes and all we're left with at the end of our lives are our own memories. In nature, memories are forged in fire; they are the never ending rings inside the trunk of a tree well lived, a carved valley cut from a millennia of wear, or the sprawled and tangled roots of an ancient tree. These are the physical memories that tell a story of the past. And yet, at the end of our lives, all we really have are our memories. Our life experiences are a compilation of memories, stored away, preserved in the quiet places of our minds. But inevitably, these places become even more quiet as life gets louder, and sometimes what we have forgotten may be far more powerful than what we actually remember. We search our minds, we close our eyes and imagine ourselves together. The feeling of a fleeting touch becomes evasive, and we can no longer call upon the sound of laughter, the subtle smiles, or just how the sun set that day. But then, it happens; a spark. The brief hint of a smell, a familiar sound, a feeling - a spark triggered by a photograph, a video. We close our eyes and experience the moment just as we did that day - finger tips touching, his stubble against your cheek, how soft her hair was, the sound of applause as you commit your life to one another. Memories give meanin and defy time. This is why we're here. We're memory keepers - rememberers. Your wedding, like everything else, will fade with time to the quiet corners of your mind. aken in a more natural setting than our venue provided, and Megan not only was flexible enough to travel to a different site for photos, but she also called the Grotto ahead of time to make sure we could have photos taken onsite. Megan captured the magic and joy of our day; from the touching moments while we were getting ready to the first look at the Grotto, to the dramatic ambience of our venue, to the sweet moments of our ceremony to the fun and joyous photos from our reception. Megan shared a perspective of our wedding that we didn't see, and it has been wonderful looking at the photos over and over again. Each time we look at them, we notice something new, see friends sharing hugs and family members sharing stories. We wanted the photos of our wedding to tell a story of two families and their friends coming together to start a new journey and Megan captured our story and our beginning beautifully. re we were prepared and excited for our wedding and that it was all easy and fun the day of! Megan was booked the day of our wedding so we had the pleasure of working with Vishnu and his sister Dana and they felt like wedding guests - they were so great to have there on the day of and helped with everything (even helped pin my hair back when it was falling a bit after photos!). We so thoroughly enjoyed working with them and were even more excited when we saw our photo album. It's one thing to see beautiful wedding photos of complete strangers on a website when you are looking for a photographer and videographer for your wedding. It's another thing when you see those photos in the style you came to love and you and all of the people you love most are the subject of them! My husband and I have looked at our pictures probably 10,000 times since we received them last week and are absolutely giddy every time as we get to relive all of the best parts of our best day ever! it was important to us and our families that we had the classic "formal" portraits along with candid moments. We chose both photo and video, and they were almost like flies on the wall for the entire day! Megan and Vishnu provide wonderful correspondence throughout the planning process, and were quick to answer my many, many questions :o) I am SO grateful Megan convinced us to read our vows to just each other; that moment beautifully summarized everything leading up to our day. Our venue was not very adventurous at all (a cute lil' rustic farm in the Puget Sound area), but their atmospheric and cinematic approach made it look SO much more dramatic! were doing! We had a zoom call with them to get to know them and talk about our vision for the wedding and they really hit the nail. Our engagement photos in Mt. Rainier were STUNNING. It was a literal snow storm and they worked with what they could due to the snow. Honestly, our engagement photos turned out so well no one would ever know that we took them in a parking lot in Mt. Rainier, that is how wonderfully skilled they are. The day of our wedding, they showed up ready to go (even though their was unexpected snow AGAIN). They captured so many beautiful moments on our special day that we get to cherish forever. We got the photos back 3 ish weeks after the wedding and they did not disappoint! Our wedding was in the first week of August, so we were expecting for it to be super sunny, but it ended up being dark & it rained. Honestly the lighting and majestic rain ended up being in our favor! We also love how he captured the landscape, we were in awe when we received our photos! We received our photos earlier than expected, and it was so easy to communicate with them along the way. We first saw the look and feel of the Adventure Stories photography on the website while planning and we were hooked. We just loved the dramatic quality and beauty, and that their love for nature matches ours. We then met with Megan to discuss in person and we were sold! She was so down to earth and we had lots in common. I didn’t meet Vishnu until the day of, but after hearing about him from Megan and seeing his photography on Instagram, being with both of them on the big day felt like seeing old friends. Now that my photos are complete I can not describe the happiness and joy that I feel. They were a dream team. My wedding photos are a fairytale, capturing our love naturally. Everyone I have shown our photos too say they belong in a magazine and they are the most, and i quote “STUNNING” wedding photos they have ever seen. I could not agree more, I have looked at them over 100 times and am already planning which photos are going where all over our house!
My favorite part of working with Megan and Vishnu is that they captured us so naturally. My husband who hates taking photos (typical guy) felt so comfortable and our photos turned out to be magical. They knew our venue so well and were able to give us fairytale photos in all different locations of the venue.
If I were to describe this experience to my maid of honor I would say, if you want stunning photos that you will LOVE for the rest of your life you need to pick my photographer. They capture your day perfectly and when you look back at these memories you will be filled with joy that they captured your love in a magical way.

Looking through our photos, we loved how they were able to capture so many of the little details and candid moments throughout the reception. Family photos went smoothly, even letting us out early enough to enjoy cocktail hour. Their posing felt natural and made for some great moments. We wouldn't trust anyone else to so perfectly capture such important moments, and will be back to work with them in the future.

They have great ideas and are so detail oriented that I felt at ease. I’m a very type A person (hello ICU nurse here) and they had everything down to a science. Our engagement photoshoot gave us the chance to really get to know them and we felt even more at ease on our wedding day. Our wedding day had a slight hiccup when a table fell on Vishnu, but like the true professionals they are, they kept going and acted like it never happened! I was absolutely in shock because I would never expect them to just bandage Vishnu up and keep going, but they did. They’re truly so selfless and put a couple at ease no matter the issue.

Hi! We're Megan + Vishnu, a wedding and elopement photo/video team - Our story began 8 years ago at a brewery in Portland, OR (naturally). We were on a double blind date thanks to an old roommate and trusty ole' Tinder. While the other half of our date never spoke again, we never stopped. It was our shared love of adventure and our mutual thirst for exploration of all things nature that sealed the deal. We wear many hats and don't simply describe ourselves as wedding photographers and videographers. We are artists, adventurers, friends, and so much more. Above all, we are story tellers.
