cancel and just didn't show up. We discussed the design and our budget several months prior to the wedding day which she accepted verbally. She declined to sign a contract. She did not confirm her services the week leading up to the wedding despite several text message and phones calls. The day BEFORE the wedding, she stated that the cost would be significantly higher than previously agreed upon for the same design. We took out several design requests to bring it down to our desired and previously agreed upon budget. The day of the wedding, the decorations were done incorrectly and not as requested months ago (pictures given to explain our requests) or the day before the wedding. She initially asked us to drive an hour to provide payment at midnight the day of the ceremony and later agreed to receive payment after the ceremony. DURING the ceremony, she was asking for her payment from several family members. This was a terrible experience with Alankar Decors with several situations of unprofessionalism.

as truly stunning – it was more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. For the evening, we kept the same mandapam, but Shobha just switched out the curtains to match our reception colors – it looked beautiful! The only issue we had with Shobha was that she was very late in taking down the morning decorations & putting up the evening one, and didn’t give us a heads-up that she was running late. This, in turn, affected other vendors’ set up (i.e. DJ set-up) – hence the 4-stars. However, the quality of her work is truly outstanding, and we’d definitely consider hiring her as a decorator again for any future events.

ions which we found very helpful since I was marrying someone from a different background, and all of her suggestions paid off. Our guests marveled at how beautiful the altar, decorations, and fine details (as mentioned above) simply glowed on my wedding day. Unfortunately I had drama the night before my wedding with the tent vendor we used, and on the spot she came up with an alternative to help make up for the lack of services (from the tent vendor). She is amazing and came through with everything she promised!
