The extra star here is only because of Olga (who I believe is Anna's daughter, very pleasant and polite) and the selection and style of dresses in the shop. I would recommend if you love a dress at this shop, take it somewhere else to be alter...ed. I expected to run into some issues with my wedding planning, but I wasn't prepared for what occurred while I was doing business with this bridal boutique. From the beginning, Anna was unclear with the prices, asking my elderly grandmother how much she thought the dress was before telling us the cost, making the whole payment process feel like I was at a flea market or dealing with someone who was trying to get some extra money. Her record keeping could use work, as she tried to charge me more than once for the alterations and I had to keep reminding her what I had already paid her for. My calls to schedule fittings were unanswered during business hours and many never received a call back. Anna showed up over half an hour late to my first fitting (and 45 minutes after her store was scheduled to open), and then told me I didn't have an appointment after my family and I (both traveling from far away) waited outside since the shop was locked. I was upset and told her that she was late, that I would now be late for my own bridal shower that afternoon, and that someone must have made a mistake since I had definitely spoken to her daughter on the phone and she told me my appointment time. Anna asked if we would like to reschedule instead of apologizing, and said that with my 'attitude' (which I felt was mild considering the situation) maybe we wouldn't be allowed to do it at all. Anna checked her computer first thing upon entering and noted that there was an appointment for me on her calendar (which I guess she doesn't keep up on?). Anna proceeded to say that she didn't know what I wanted her to do since she had "already said she was sorry." I informed her that this was the first apology, and that she was acting unprofessionally. She backed off a bit after that, but the challenges kept coming in other ways. I happened to lose some weight between fittings, and Anna tried to charge me for a second dress that was only 2 sizes smaller instead of altering the one I had paid for, which when I bought it she had claimed it was brand new (so why can't you put it back on the floor?) She eventually said that I could get a discount on the new dress and pay a 'restocking fee' for the one I had bought. Considering the situation, I agreed, knowing that she was making a lot of extra money for nothing here. Finally, for my last fitting I received a call the day before telling me I needed to reschedule (and it was only a week until my big day at this point) due to a family emergency. When I did go to my final fitting (the day before the wedding) I noticed that one of the pearls on the back of my dress was loose and dangling. Though it was a small detail, I pointed it out and asked Anna to fix it, which she agreed to do on the spot after telling me that I broke it while unzipping the dress. She was gone for about 2 minutes and apparently sewed my dress shut at the lower part of the zipper making it difficult to put on the day of my wedding. I think that Anna may be more suited to take a step back from the business and let someone else interact with customers. I don't understand how they are basically the only bridal boutique in Napa.
