BEST JOB DONEReviewed on 9/27/2012 sarah f
Kevin and his staff did a WONDERFUL job with my wedding this past weekend. The food was excellent, the ball room looked fabulous, and he was there everytime I had a question and handled eveything I asked him too. Kevin made my vision a reality, and my wedding day was something that I will never forget. He recommended a wonderful talented DJ, and tasty cake place. He was spot on with the details he promised me, and again, everything went off without a hitch. Brides will always stress about the wedding details, but when I gave Keving my ideas, he promised it would be great, and it was...TRUST this man to pull it off. He will. 100%.
KEVIN & STAFF @ ARBOR RIDGE WERE WONDERFUL!!Reviewed on 6/21/2012 Brittani P
I would personally like to thank Kevin and all of his staff at both the reception hall and hotel for all of their help and for making our wedding day that much more special. Everything was perfect, the staff, the venue, the set up, the food, the flowers, the bar, the after party, the honeymoon sweet, the cake, the cocktail hour, all of our special details were met beyond our standards. At the end of the night we were more then thrilled with how our day went, Kevin kept to a strict schedule and was very organized. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! The wedding package was exactly in our budget and was worth every penny.
Do not useReviewed on 12/15/2011 B l
My husband and I used this venue for our wedding. When we originally met with Kevin (the manager) he was very kind. As the wedding approached we were very specific about what we wanted. Both of my parents passed away within the last few years and I wanted to honor them. We made donations to charities in their names as well as we asked if we could have my fathers restored Model A at the site for pictures. We also advised that we would not be having a first dance or a parents dance. We were told this would not be a problem. The night before the wedding (10/29) they had a huge Halloween party with drunk people all over the hotel. The cops were called multiple times. A couple was fighting in front of the bridal sweet at 2AM. There were beer bottles all over the lawn in the morning and broken glass. we got an attitude when we asked when it would be cleaned up. We were told we were the only wedding that evening. Well the squeezed another one in from 12-5 so when our guests arrived at 5:15 nothing was set up. Kevin would not allow me to walk down the aisle at 5:30 as planned because our cocktail hour didn't start until 6 and we were having a quick ceremony. All of this he knew previously. So our guests had to wait an extra 20 mins and he went downstairs and blamed it on me saying I had a problem with my dress!!! After the ceremony I was asked by a women setting up (yes setting up after the ceremony!) where to put the tule (which obviously was meant for the ceremony so that was never put out!) We were running so late we completely missed our cocktail hour taking pictures which was not the plan.We didn't get half the pictures that we wanted because we had to go to the reception. My husband and I literally have 2 photos of us together on our wedding night. We just didn't have time because Kevin wouldn't let us start when we wanted to. My step mom dropped off my dads car and Kevin screamed at her that she could not park it by his grass! Then when were ready to be introduced to the reception we reminded Kevin that we were not doing a first dance and he flipped out on us! He said we had to so he could take dinner orders. We reminded him that he already knew this and that he knew about the car! He was so mad he was screaming. When dinner was served he was yelling at the servers and two servers started screaming and cursing (f you, f that) at each other in the middle of the dance floor. The cake was included with the package and it was gross!! It tasted like it was a week old. Kevin refused to move our guest book upstairs from the cocktail so our photographer did it so people would sign it. We hardly have any messages from guests because they didn't see it. The dance floor came apart when people were dancing and had to be fixed multiple times. At the end of the night when we were packing up I found all of our guest favors (poem and donation card in memory of my parents) under a table on the floor. They were never given out. We had an after party and Kevin booked yet another halloween party downstairs so random people dressed up were coming up to our party and had to be escorted out. We made the best of our wedding and still had fun but Kevin B is the most unprofessional wedding manager. He was rude to our guests and us, he drank during our after party, he screamed at us, acted as though he didn't know things that we had in writing with him, and he paid no attention to detail. Do not have your wedding here. It is not worth the aggravation.
Arbor RidgeReviewed on 10/10/2011 Nicole G
I first learned of this venue after my parents attended a New Year's Eve party there. They were very impressed with the food and service so we decided to check it out. We live in Fairfield County CT and were having a very hard time finding a nice, affordable venue in the area. Arbor Ridge had a nice ourdoor garden area for our ceremony and really nice banquet rooms to choose from for our reception. We chose the one that has the stone patio adjacent to the room. They had an inclusive wedding package that fit our needs and budget. Our wedding was absolutely wonderful, the food was really good and the servers and bartender were excellent. We worked with Kevin, the manager, for all arrangements prior to and during the wedding day. He would get back to us promptly with any questions we had.
Beautiful place, not so kind managerReviewed on 9/18/2011 Kristen F
The venue was absolutely beautiful and the food was out of this world. We received compliments for weeks after about the food and venue...but...the manager was rude. He argued with our officiant THREE TIMES before the start of the ceremony.

My fiance and I visited the venue for a scheduled visit. We arrived on time and the manager was late for the first in the morning appointment. We walked into the reception hall and was trying to find someone when he arrived and questioned us on how we got in. He didn't even remember that he had a morning appointment until we turned on his computer. We were handed what seemed like a standard folder of what items they offered. We were not sure on our wedding size yet but he scoffed at the idea if anything less than 150-200 people. He was rude and we left there knowing that instant that it was not someplace we care to do Business.
fantastic!Reviewed on 11/20/2010 melissa R
Everything was great! We were able to have our ceremony outside and the reception was beautiful. Kevin worked with us to make it a great night!
Great Day!Reviewed on 11/02/2010 Kari C
My husband and I had looked at 12 vendors before checking out Arbor Ridge, and were beginning to think we'd need to "settle" for something affordable that didn't really meet all of our wants. We walked out of Arbor Ridge, looked at each other and said "this is it". The reception hall is beautiful, and the fact that the ceremony site and hotel are on the same property were perfect for us. Kevin is very business like, and can be a little intimidating but he kept our day running smoothly, and we enjoyed working with him. We were allowed to use the bridal suite early that day to get ready, and the groomsmen were allowed to use a hotel room when the suite they were getting ready in (in the reception all) got too hot. My friends and family can't stop gushing over how great the food was, and how great the day was. I couldn't eat too much, but what I did tried was very yummy! We did 14 individual cakes instead of centerpieces, made by my aunt, but cut and served by the staff. Kevin had no problem accommodating our different requests, such as the multiple cakes. There may have been a few little snafu's here and there (our guest book was never used because the attendant didn't put out the papers to write on, and didn't direct anyone too it even though she was standing there). However, nothing took away from an amazing day. I'd book it again in a heartbeat!
Would not recommendReviewed on 10/27/2010 Yvette M
I would not recommend Arbor Ridge to another bride. My day started out with my photographer calling stating they did not have the Bridal suite booked for me at their hote. When I got to the hotel I was then informed that I had to "book" the room although I was getting married that day. I was never informed of this information since it is included in the package I paid for. They advised me that I would get the room the night before since my wedding was a day wedding. They have now put a disclaimer on their package stating it's not a guarantee for day weddings. The Maitre D' (the owner) yelled at my DJ since there was confusion on the time schedule, although my DJ had requested a meeting with him and he refused stating it wasn't necessary. He also rudely addressed one of my guest regarding their outfit. My husband walked in on him yelling at the staff in the reception room. I bought bubbles to be used during the ceremony which were never used and was actually told I did not supply them, which of course was later found by his assistant in his office. My tables were not in the correct setting as indicating in the seating chart. I did hear that the cocktail hour food was delicious, I could not vouch as I didn't get to sample it although I was told we would have someone bringing us out food during our pictures. The reception food was very good. I absolutely loved my cake, it was gorgeous and delicious. Arbor Ridge does make for nice pictures but when I booked the venue I booked it based off of pictures that were on their website which showed a little garden by the ceremony site. Once booked I was then advised that they were getting rid of the garden to make more room for a bigger ceremony site so it was replaced with grass. So I did lose an element for my pictures that I was hoping for. My photographer for the day was so shocked by the lack of professionalism showed by this venue. He has actually stated he will never do a wedding there again. I'm sure there is more that happened but it's been over a year and I think this pretty much sums up my point that I would not recommend Arbor Ridge if you want a stress free wedding day.
