DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER FOR YOUR RECEPTION BAND!!!!! It's difficult for me to put into words just how incredible these guys were at our reception. The amount of compliments we received on how FANTASTIC they were is unbelievable. Three guests at my wedding already booked them for their own. My fiancé and I first came across B Street Benny searching online for a band who played Frank Sinatra. This lead me to read the rest of their song list. They have the BIGGEST list with the MOST variety I had come across in the entire search for bands. We went and saw them, and we were hooked. Female lead vocals and band manager TJ Lewis is the BEST. She is so extremely personable, kind, and caring. We were in constant communication before we had even booked the band and throughout the whole process up until the day of the wedding. She knows how special and important this night is for a bride and groom, and she shows it and follows through. The band learned our first dance AND created a little Frank montage because we couldn't decide which one we wanted to dance to. It was AMAZING! They learned many other songs at our request, and allowed for us to choose special songs we wanted played at certain parts of the night. We basically created our set list for the night; she means it when she says "tell me your YES and NO songs on he list and she was so helpful in choosing certain songs. I could go on and on about how great she is!!!! I had experiences inquiring with a few other bands during the wedding planning process, and she really sealed the deal with just how well she communicates and manages and cares. Her husband Brad is phenomenal on guitar. Male lead vocals Kentro is SO TALENTED!!!! Cannot even say enough about his voice and moves and stage presence. All my guests could not stop raving about him TJ and Kentro are a great vocal pair. The horns section was awesome. Drums fantastic. Truly everyone in their band is great, you can tell they love to work together, and that they all love what they do!!!! They had just as much fun performing as all the guests did dancing. You are SILLY if you want a fun, rocking reception filled with music that all guests will love and songs that keep them on the dance floor, and do not choose this group to make that happen. GO B STREET BENNY!!!! I love y'all!!!!!!!!
I couldn't have asked for a better band for our wedding! B Street Benny was beyond awesome. They sent us their entire song list, and my now husband and I went through the entire thing marking songs we liked vs. songs we didn't like, and they made a show based on those recommendations. They mentioned our requests were much more "rock and roll" than they're used to (people usually want dance music), but they put together an awesome show suited for our wedding guests. They also learned songs for the first dance, the mother/son dance, and the father daughter dance, and they helped me poke fun at my fiancé during the first dance. He hates the song 'I want you to want me", so I asked them to start playing that for our first dance before playing our real song. They did, and it was hilarious to see his face when that song came on. They also worked with me on a plan I had for the father/daughter dance: my dad played drums in a band for over 40 years, and during our dance they let him get up on stage and play drums w/ them as a surprise. They also played an extra half hour at the end of their official show, just because I asked them to (people were having so much fun). They were truly awesome, and several wedding guests commented on our wedding being the best they've ever been to, and a lot of the credit goes to B Street Benny. Thanks you guys!
My entire wedding party raved about our band! TJ was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was very personable and I loved her energy. She did an arrangement for our first dance (When You Wish Upon a Star and Love Me Like You Do) and it was MAGICAL. My guests danced the entire time and I HIGHLY recommend B Street Benny. Much Love, Michael and Mark
I can't say enough about TJ and the boys of B Street Benny. My fiance and I actually met on a weekend trip to New Orleans. As fate would have it, we were both students at University of Kentucky. Wildcats were in town for Basketball championships. We won and we fell in love with each other and the city of New Orleans. So many of our friends were with us on our perspective trips where we met, we thought it'd be great to get married in New Orleans. That does present the challenge of not really knowing florist and planners and bands, etc. So, we took to the internet like everyone else. After reading reviews and seeing video footage of performances, we decided to take a trip to New Orleans to hear B Street Benny to book them for our wedding. The first night we saw them on Bourbon St, the city was fairly quiet. There were maybe 35 people in the club, but the energy from the stage was electric. Everyone was dancing and cheering and applauding and I knew these were the guys for us since we were having a relatively small guests list (75 people). We booked the band that night and went back to see them again. This night, the street and the bar were packed and once again they did not disappoint. Fast forward a couple of months texting and messaging back and forth. We were having some difficulties picking our songs. TJ was so helpful and patient and understanding. We actually switched all of our choices the week before the wedding. They had no issues with that and nailed all of the songs we asked them to learn. They were refined, but they weren't stuffy by any means. They let loose and had fun with us. The singers were on the dance floor, band members were dancing around while playing. Guests got in the mix with the band and they handled it very well. They even shared their mics and tamborine (sp?) These guys love what they do and it shows. Booking a band from a few states away can be unnerving for sure, but TJ was always available to answer my questions. She was so accessible that it put all of my worries at ease. If you're looking for a band to make your night come alive, look no further, book B Street Benny! You won't regret it.
TJ is amazing! It's just that simple. This past weekend my son got married at the Maison Dupuy. My now daughter-in-law hired a band strictly off of their reviews, so I thought I should write this one. The band Leigh hired was good. They were. But - their lead singer did not show because he had fallen ill. Leigh and Chad did not know until just before their ceremony that the singer they hired would not be performing. They met TJ briefly and while she seemed professional, they knew nothing about her. Well, there were a few technical difficulties that happened in the early part of the night. TJ kept the wedding planner and the bride and groom and immediate family informed as the band was sorting out the issues. She was so accommodating and did everything to put us all at ease. Once the night got started, she managed to pull everyone out of their seats and onto the dance floor. She was all over the dance floor with us. She was on the fountain, singing by the pool. I mean, she did not stop! Energy for days and an amazing set of pipes. This girl can belt, oh my. I used to sing back in my younger days, so I can vouch for her talent. She just blew us away. She mentioned to me that she when she got the call, if it had been for any event other than a wedding, she would have not accepted, because she rarely has time off. She said under no circumstance could she let a bride go without a singer on her wedding day. I just thought that was such a wonderful thing. While I haven't hear B Street Benny, I can absolutely vouch for their lead singer and I'm sure if her band is anything like her, you can't go wrong. If she's there, it's gonna be a hit. TJ, thank you. Ms Penny.
I will never in my life reduce this band of heroes to anything short of a Leo Tolstoy novel. How dare you, sire. How dare you ratings system. The epithets, idioms and superlatives are so plenty on my end that they very may well be ironed, stretched and pressed and made a flag of honor. If they ever made a flag as such -- a flag so beautilful and true.. I would wear it in such a way that there would never be a question of my allegiance. Nationalism be damned. I (purposefully, against my own judgement) have become a solemn follower of BSB.I forwent my own birthright to bless them. God bless them. They might not be the heroes we deserve, but they are the heroes we need right now. In order words, they were amazing and you'd be foolish not to book them for your wedding. Ryan and Jenny Robinson
Above and Beyond to say the least! This past weekend, one of my best friends got married. The wedding was at The Venue in Fairhope, AL. The entire place was occupied for the reception including the outdoor courtyard/patio for the band. The following account is collected from various stories I've heard. The band set up on the outside staging area. There was a tent to cover equipment due to a forecast of rain for a short period of time. Apparently the tent was taken down as they were informed the threat of rain had passed. The band completed their set up and sound check and then the thunder rolled. They set the tent back over the staging area and frantically tried to save their equipment. A torrential downpour lasted for about 20 minutes (welcome to Fairhope) and then the skies cleared. By this point, everyone in the band was pretty much soaked and they feared their equipment was ruined. Lauren (the wedding planner) was just returning to the venue along with all the guests. At this point, the band thought they would not be able to play as they were unsure if their equipment would turn on. Even though we were arriving, they weren't scheduled to play for another 45 minutes. They went to speak with Amber and Lee to tell them the bad news. After speaking with them, the singer decided they were going to go for it and pray everything still worked. They had to tear down all of their equipment, clear the stage to remove the standing water, dry all of their gear and set up AGAIN! The wedding reception started 45 minutes late, which means they did all of that in 1.5 hours. They got the party started and it simply did not stop. They took one very brief break to play a few requested DJ songs and do the bouquet and garter toss, but that was it. The dance floor was full from the first song to the last. I'm pretty sure that the band had the right to refuse playing considering it was very possible everything they owned just got completely ruined. Instead, they threw one of the greatest parties ever! That was beyond professional. That was personal. And as Amber's friend, it meant a lot to her and all of us.
BOOK THESE GUYS!!!! I don't really know where to start. I attended a wedding back in January and I still haven't stopped talking about this band! I don't know where Asha found them, but OMG they were amazing. I've since found out where they play and venture to see them on occasion in the French Quarter. The wedding was at Rozy's Jazz Hall. This was a pretty big party. I think 250 guests. People started dancing from song one. Like literally the first song. They played some really cool tunes that I would not have expected to hear at a wedding. For the first dance I know that Asha and Sean requested the original MP3 version for their dance. Later in the night, the band played it for the entire wedding party to dance to. Like, they still learned it and played it. I thought that was pretty cool. Not only did these guys have a really amazing song selection, they were really talented. These guys are serious players. Everything about the performance was on point. The execution of songs, the energy, the sound, the lights. They really did a great job. Asha and Sean got on stage with them (along with a few other drunken guests throughout the night) and they didn't seemed bothered by it in the least. Actually they seemed to welcome the challenge. It was just a great night all around. I'm not planning on getting married anytime soon, but when I do, I can assure you I'm gonna be calling B Street Benny.
This band was amazing. And if you don't believe me, I have video of a brother and sister, one in their late 80's and one in their early 90's on the dance floor from the beginning of the night until they couldn't dance anymore. The singers sounded like recordings they were so good. The girl sang A Thousand Years and gave me goosebumps. And their guy singer (fairly new from my understanding) was soooo amazing. They need to be on The Voice or American Idol or something! The band played all of the first dances i.e. bride and groom, mother/son, father/daughter. I think that's so much nicer than seeing someone dance to a record. The dance for the groom and his mother was a religious song that is not very well known, and they even learned that and it was beautiful. Their energy as a group was so inviting, and their song selection appealed to everyone old (already mentioned that) and young. Our family had a very wide range of age groups in attendance and they catered to everyone. Actually, their only flaw was that they thought the night was going on longer than it did. They prepped for a final break only to find out that was the end of the night. They cleared it with the venue owner and the attending police security to play two more songs they'd promised my niece and her now husband. Most bands would have been happy to call it a night. The party would have gone on forever, but the attending policeman said their ten minute extension was all we could have! LOL. I have told family that anyone getting married should hire B Street Benny. I think they'll be our family wedding band. Hope they're ok with that.
WOW. I booked this band before I even heard or saw them live. The reason primarily was because their customer service and attention was so amazing. TJ, a member and manager of the band, would literally email me back in minutes!! During all the wedding planning, this was so incredibly valuable to me. So I went for it. We got a chance to see them play on Bourbon Street, for their weekly night gig, and we were absolutely blown away. Before the big day came, we threw a number of obscure as well as popular songs at them that they learned just for our reception. They shined, they were amazing, and oh so entertaining. All of our guests complimented us on how fun, energetic, and talented they were. They even dealt with my on stage "air keyboard playing" after a few celebratory drinks!! Can't say enough great things about this band. They were the best part of our wedding celebration.
Best band ever!! They are amazing and everyone loved them. The dance floor was full all night and no one wanted the evening to end. They played at our wedding reception and not only are they amazing musicians they are also very professional. They answered any questions I had immediately and went above and beyond to work with me on any request I had. Book them! You will love them!!
These guys were absolutely amazing at our wedding this weekend! TJ made the planning so easy and was a dream to work with--always very responsive and helpful. We got so many compliments on the music at the wedding, and everyone wanted to know who the band was and how we found them. I'd pick them again in a heartbeat. They even learned some very special songs for us and played them perfectly. They are consummate professionals and I'm so so so happy we chose them! Thanks again for making the reception so awesome! -Gina and Jim
I've known since I was a little girl that Tanya was going to sing at my wedding. We're cousins and we grew up together. Over the years I've watched her and Brad grow their band and go after their dream together. They play such a wide variety of music. Our family is one huge crazy mix of personalities and musical likings. We have country fans, oldies fans, rock fans, pop fans and rap fans and trust that they all want to hear the music they like. Tanya and the guys from B Street Benny play it all. They kept us on our feet the entire time. Luckily I was wearing my converse! I would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to book an amazing band for their wedding. I know we're family. But in this family, we welcome everyone with the same open arms and I'm sure she does that for her other brides as well.
We live an hour outside of New Orleans. We love to visit the city and go out on Bourbon Street. We've been following B Street Benny for about three years, so it was only natural that we ask them to play at our wedding. It was no surprise to us how amazing their performance was. Everyone danced from beginning to end. It was a perfect mix of styles to cater to all of our friends and family. Everything about them was perfection. They had their lights, but they were set to these really beautiful sort of peach like colors that lit up the stage area but didn't look tacky. They even made sure to turn a spot on us for our first dance. The sound was really good. It was really present but everyone could still speak comfortably with other guest. TJ was so easy to work with. She was very personable and extremely professional. By the time our wedding rolled around I felt like we'd been friends for years. She spent time really trying to know and understand us as a couple so that she could design as she said "The most perfect night of music and dancing imaginable." And it was.
B Street Benny absolutely MADE our wedding - we've been married for several months now and we still get comments on how phenomenal the band was all the time. My husband and I are from the east coast and planned everything ourselves remotely. A year before the wedding, we found a band we liked that we watched live, and booked them for the big day. Unfortunately, only a few months before the wedding, that band cancelled on us. We did a ton of research and were EXTREMELY lucky to find B Street Benny and that they were available for our wedding date. Working with them was an absolute breeze. We gave them a few songs to give them an idea of our style of music and they ran with it for the big day and we couldn't be happier. They communicated with us throughout the entire process and were very professional and punctual. Even though our venue was definitely a challenge for them to set up (a boat with a really small dance floor!), they set up like it was nothing and kept everyone dancing all night. I feel like it is so hard to find a fun band that is experienced with weddings and also professional - they really are a great find! My husband and I both had an absolute blast at our wedding thanks to B Street Benny and we highly recommend them to anyone else getting married near NOLA!

Definitely a band that would make any wedding day a serious party!!! If i wasn't married I'd book them to do my wedding. Maybe i'll book them for my anniversary. anyways BOOK THIS BAND!! You wont be disappointed!!!
Great Band, Loved the Energy!Reviewed on 1/26/2016
B Street Benny has great energy and chemistry on stage. They do a great job of getting their crowd involved. I would 100% recommend them for a wedding event or any other event that a band is preferred. They played a variety of music so there was always something for everyone.
B Street Benny is an extremely skilled cover band devoted to each of their own passions. Together these six professional individuals create an outstanding experience for their audience, each and every time. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this group of talented musicians play numerous times, on and off of Bourbon Street. Their comprehensive song list and ability to read the crowd accommodates and pleases all listeners. B Street Benny's combined expertise and energy makes for one heck of an engaging and entertaining event! Overall, B Street Benny's combined skill set and dedication make them stand out in a city world famous for music.
